I don't get why most people don't seem to share this opinion but I find Windows 10 much better than Windows 7.

Because most people don't like being spied.

Nothing against you, but I just find funny that people keep repeating this when I'm 100% sure they use a smartphone that "spies" just as much, if not more. Have you guys ever seen how many permissions most apps even require you to accept? I honestly see no difference =P

Windows 7 is the happiest I've ever been with an OS. It was good at what it does, rarely did it do anything that would make me actually think about it, and it wasn't trying to watch me through the crack in the toilet door.

I think Windows 10 is a better actual OS (it's effectively W7 but cleaner and faster), but it fails miserably on the latter two points.

You separated Ubuntu from Linux? I don't disagree with the decision to single it out since it's probably the most popular consumer distribution, but the choice of words is a bit poor. The problem is that it makes it seem like Ubuntu is not a Linux distribution.

Anyway, I like Linux the most. A lot of stuff is really clumsy to do in Windows, and updating Windows is always a nightmare (it's usually easy but very slow and often requires a restart). I'm currently using mainly Windows, but if gaming ever becomes viable on Linux, I'll switch pretty much instantly. I have Linux Mint on my laptop and it's great compared to Windows. It's much faster, and doing stuff is generally easier and better. Linux has some rough edges for sure, but I don't mind them nearly as much as the rough edges in Windows.

Windows 10 because it has a clean UI and its fast. Also good for play anywhere.

I don't watch porn on my phone, nor I use it to download illegal roms, movies, music etc.

Serious answer: more responsible people may use their PC for work. Work that may require confidentiality.

The two aren't always comparable. While many are woefully uninformed on how often they give away their mobile privacy (and would likley appreciate being informed on it), i expect most heavy PC users consider a desktop environment to be far more personal. Speaking anecdotally, if my PC is my digital home, then my mobile is my digital car. If i found out there were cameras in my car, i'd be angry. If i found out they had them in my house, i'd be outright horrified.

Windows 10 but the security issues make it far from perfect.

Yeah, for working security is important indeed, I agree. It just bothers me a bit that most people that complain about it don't care about that stuff on their phones. Also, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think most of the info the OS collects is based on using a Microsoft account, which you don't actually need to, as there's a local account option that works just like on Windows 7.

Oh, I get that don't worry (I'll always prefer using my PC over my phone for stuff because it does feel a lot more personal as you said). I guess the point I'm trying to make is that people should be worried about their privacy on both of those devices instead of just on their computers =P
