PC - Favorite OS for PC? - View Post

I don't watch porn on my phone, nor I use it to download illegal roms, movies, music etc.

Serious answer: more responsible people may use their PC for work. Work that may require confidentiality.

Yeah, for working security is important indeed, I agree. It just bothers me a bit that most people that complain about it don't care about that stuff on their phones. Also, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think most of the info the OS collects is based on using a Microsoft account, which you don't actually need to, as there's a local account option that works just like on Windows 7.

The two aren't always comparable. While many are woefully uninformed on how often they give away their mobile privacy (and would likley appreciate being informed on it), i expect most heavy PC users consider a desktop environment to be far more personal. Speaking anecdotally, if my PC is my digital home, then my mobile is my digital car. If i found out there were cameras in my car, i'd be angry. If i found out they had them in my house, i'd be outright horrified.

Oh, I get that don't worry (I'll always prefer using my PC over my phone for stuff because it does feel a lot more personal as you said). I guess the point I'm trying to make is that people should be worried about their privacy on both of those devices instead of just on their computers =P
