So Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has finally fallen back to 93. I've been checking out of curiosity every day and it seemed pretty clear it was dropping when all of the Italian reviews came in and they were 90's, but today's 90 finally dropped it to 93.

At this point the odds likely favor it staying at 93, as the post-release reviews generally score slightly lower than the early ones. It's right on the edge of 93 and 94, though, so I suppose jumping back up isn't impossible.

Here's some consolation for my fellow Nintendo fans though: If it stays at 93, my prediction was correct! Totally worth a point imo

A 95 and 100 just came in, pushing it back to 94... I really don't know what to cheer for, Nintendo's success or (more selfishly) my prediction.

Don't worry, your prediction will be right as soon as jim sterling's biased review kicks in.

I predict this game will rival Zelda's attach ratio, basically every two switch sales should equate to one copy of this game selling at least.

Which when you consider the fact that it is a remaster means it will just be printing money for Nintendo with software salvaged from the Wii-U

Well it's definitely a must own... it also appears it will be the first console/game bundle.

It was an MK8 bundle that first sold me on the Wii U, so hopefully it helps sway people towards the Switch as well.

And you consider it a must own as someone who has had it on the Wii-U before, imagine people like myself who were tempted by the game but not enough to buy into the Wii-U, it's going to be a whole new experience complete with all that DLC, Link in a MK game, I can't wait for this Friday to come around.

Suffering the same issue as I had with Lego City undercover though, although slightly less so, the game at retail ranging from 50-55e but on the Store it's 59.99 Honestly though, I think I'll get it digitally just so I can have both it and Zelda on the switch without swapping carts around.

Lego City was way worse here though, you can get the Physical copy of the game for €45 but the Digital version (which is the one I want) costs €59.99 paying €15 more for the convience of having the game on my SD card when it goes directly to Nintendo and has far less overhead makes zero sense to me, I can't understand it.

I always prefer physical to digital. Definitely one reason everyone is trying to phase physical out is that it would allow them to control the price and would transfer a lot of the money lost to the sales of used games right back to them.

In handhelds I much rather Digital because of wanting to have all the software in the unit without having to change carts while on the go or risk losing any of them if I'm outside.

I love Physical for my home systems, got shelves of games all over the place here as a testament to that, but say on the Vita I have over 200 titles which are digital just because of how easy it was to download them from psn in comparison to find a store which stocked new Vita titles here in Ireland. But on the Switch I mean... if there was any sort of partity between the cost Digitally and Physically I would get it Digitally how I want it and Nintendo could happily not have to worry about pre owned software, but €15 is too big a gap imo for what should be a cheaper option buying it from the Eshop

In case I'm not clear

Physical copy costs 45

Digital is 60

No way that should be the case when you compare, manufacturing costs, transport, storage, sales staff in game shop, all of that is cut out with the Digital version, but it's still that much more expensive. How is that justified?

Personally, my biggest gripe in MK8 was only being about to carry one item. That alone puts this version ahead at least a couple of points. My old strategy is back!
