This isn't about what is beneficial for the gaming companies but about gamers. It's not dishonest in the slightest.

It wouldn't be beneficial for gamers if Sony cut their investment in new games because it lost its income from HW sales.

Sony isn't known for earning lots of money on hardware. I don't think they would have much trouble.

Well it would be beneficial to me for Nintendo to port Zelda to smart phones so I won't have to fork 300$ to play it.

Why not on the PS4? that way we could play it at 1080p at a locked 30 frame rate with better textures and stuff.

Why not on a PC? that way we could play it at 4k at a locked 60 frame rate with better textures and stuff.

That's good too, but i´d rather just stay with my 250$ console instead of spending over 1000$ on a 4k capable PC.

Sure but my reasoning was - Nintendo doesn't care about hardware, everyone has smart phones -> everyone can play Zelda. In conclusion Nintendo should go mobile.

When you look at sales of PS4 first party, non-port games it's clear that the star power isn't there for third party success. This isn't Nintendo. The majority of PS4 sales go to average COD and Madden gamers, not people like us who play Bloodborne etc. That's always been the case for Playstation consoles. Sony's success comes from their ability to be the third party console of choice. So going third party? Doesn't make sense and would certainly be their downfall.

They earn a lot from online service and third party deals.

You eliminate the need of a PS4 you get more money to spend on hardware

The cost of PC hardware is nowhere near that much to get a higher performance than a PS4.

Besides your argument is invalid if you live in Argentina. Finding a PS4 for less than 550 dollars is really hard.

Great reasoning, now tell me how Botw would work on smartphone? Control input, graphics and everything?

Luckly i have friends who travel all the time so it isn't that bad for me, but yeah your screwed here otherwise.

Nintendo games on PC would unironically be amazing here, can't find the Switch cheaper than 700$ locally.

They would sell a lot more software by going third party and they could even use their online service on PC. Instead of using steam, they could use the Playstation network on PC.
