The UK Youtube chat was just retarded. They all seemed to be hoping for tons of big new games.
I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get any virtual console news though.

PAOerfulone said: Well, my biggest takeaways are these: 1. The 3DS is still alive and well. 2. ARMS is looking really good, but I need more. 3. They're putting their money and faith in Mario Kart being a huge system seller for 3 months until Splatoon 2 comes out. 4. Splatoon 2 comes out in July. BOOOOOOO! |
Mario Kart won't sell horribly, I think we can sure of that. Can it sell Zelda numbers.....
Maybe if it is bundled with a Switch, if just because of scarcity issues.
The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

In the rate eh conference thread, someone rated it a 4/10
Guessing that person is like the UK chat people. People with outrageous expectations of every Nintendo direct to be like E3. You see some peopel put lists up of what they want and its like basically what we got, PLUS 2-3 huge new switch announcements.
Ha, they are not going to announce Metroid Prime 4 or something in a random Nintendo direct they announced 2 days ago. They will do that at E3 in 2 months.
Oh, I don't doubt that Mario Kart will sell great. The fact that it managed 8 million on Wii U should put those doubts to the grave.
I'm just unsure if it'll keep Switch sales steady for 3 months. Because, I don't buy ARMS as a system seller.

The direct was what I expected and what was promoted as,
VC will either have it's own direct or will be revealed at E3.

The Switch is scarce enough already. If Arms, Mario Kart and Splatoon 2 all came out tomorrow, all it woudl do would increase Ebay resell value.
Cloud and Bayonetta amiibos, will buy them all.
Monster Hunter Stories and the Kirby games were a nice surprise
Really like the new mode in Splatoon 2, was what I wanted in the original
And Cloud Amiibo :p
Lots of mini annoucements, which was not really what I was expecting so that's good
