Forums - Microsoft - The power gap between Scorpio and PS4 Pro might be greater than the Switch and the PS4 Slim.

IMO, will still use jaguar or at most puma.

1080/60 and 4K/30.

Sony pretty much pushed the jaquar as far as it can go in the pro and games are not running on 1080/60, take Nier or Dark Souls or Final Fantasy who all aim at that and all fail at that because of CPU limitations (analyzed by digital foundry/VGTech and they said this is the reason)

Sure the extra memory+badwith might make 4k/30 available in some games by sheer GPU power but if it does use a jag or puma 60 fps in games that arn't build from the ground up to run like that (halo 6/gears 4 multiplayer/forza are good excamples) will just fail misserably.

Every developer and insider I have read from that have Seen the hardware have praised it, there is something in there, lets hope its the CPU that will impress us because else it will be an upgrade and some will like it but it won't blow people away in the difference department, if they use a new tech CPU every games will look noticably better for anyone watching a comparison if the hardware is used.

Well it looks like in 4-5 days we will know! :D

Is scorpio microsoft's version of the ps 4 pro? i.e., a more powerful version of the xbox one? Or is it microsoft's next iteration of the xbox? I'm a little confused as to what it is.

People are confused about this because it is confusing but when you really start analyzing all the facts its neither.
Yes it will run All Xbox One and most Xbox360 games and have access to all the supported hardware, controllers, kinect etc from the Xbox One but it will also support VR/Mixed Reality, which the Xbox One won't.

New games developed for the Xbox One will not be the version the Scorpio will run the Scorpio will run the PC versions instead, when you look at the play anywhere initiative its supporting PC and Xbox One well basically the Scorpio will run (confirmed many times) the PC version instead of the Xbox One version of those games.

So in many ways the Xbox Scorpio is the first of many "Console-Pc's" altough it has all the benefits and features of a console it also has the benefits of the PC which is quite obviously easy since it uses Windows 10 and all the components of a gaming PC. Now the best part of this is that any future console will be very scalable, no patches needed to get higher resolutions or better graphics the settings can just be adjusted, like when you buy a new pc and download your old games.

Basically the Scorpio, like microsoft has stated, is the last generation for microsoft. Their next Console will again just support all the same stuff and continue this trend, eventually there might be a point where the original Xbox One won't be supported, maybe when the successor of the Scorpio is released, but the direction Microsoft is going in seems to be much different then sony.

What do you mean the PC version ??The Scorpio version will be the PS4P version but instead play games at higher res and still have same or better fps. I think they will also do checkboard style resolution. If they go native that will eat performance. . Microsoft so called exclusive probably will make better use of the hardware.

They have confirmed the games that are available in the windows store (not just exclusives) like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon, Recore, Dead Rising but also Resident Evil, Shadow of War and even Call of Duty is available will give them automatic access to the pc & 4k assets and this will be used in the Scorpio version. Hopefully a lot of third party games will eventually be play anywhere its just very pro-consumer to have a free PC version included in digital sales.

I dont see new CPU in Scorpio, guys, we all see how devs treat PS4 Pro patches what is " gimme a break " lazy work, simply nobody cares. Fuck, even this Boost mode is peasant version of artificial support for PS4 Pro.

So  what, they will create games for XBO,PC,Scorpio, no way.

Turkish ended thé thread

Though of the power subject, its à fantasy to think thé gap between Pro-Scorpio will bé anything like the Little gap between PS4-Switch in comparison, especially since any gap wouldnt bé seen because of both being tied to current generation.

All of this rémind me thé Silly rumors about Switch being close to PS4 pro( and then to ps4 , and then to One, until people accept its just an enhanced WiiU like Wii was an enhanced GC )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Yes I guess older games can run at 4K. May be like Tomb Raider they will have different modes ?? I am not sure about current or future games though.Xbone and PS4 will be base and PS4P, Scorpio will have higher res support.

Didn't horizon run from a checkerboarded 1800P, if this is the case and scorpio is at least 40% more powerfull and has 4GB of faster ram available and god knows what kind of cpu, it should be able to run that game in full 4k, obviously it wont since its exclusive but isn't that one of the better looking games?

Anyway, the 480RX which is less powerfull then the scorpio and has less memory bandwith can run rise of the tomb raider, grand theft auto and even newer titles in 4k no problem and when you aim for 30fps games like the witcher and watch dogs are possible if the scorpio has an updated CPU.

Native 4k (pc) vs Checkerboarding

Or how about Mass Effect Andromeda?

PS4pro vs Xbox Scorpio is gonna be a small differnce only in terms of graphics imo.
