Forums - Nintendo - Reggie: Nintendo Switch Is Setting Sales Records Every Day, We’ve Turned the Industry on Its Ear

All talk and no steak. Give us numbers, that's the only thing that matters. This is just meaningless PR

I think we'll have to wait for that until their Quarterly Report in about one month, unless we get exact numbers from March NPD, which I doubt.

So the item that you cant find in any store is selling great everyday? Yeah sureeee

Except you can find them in stores. I just checked and two stores in my area have it. One has 2 the other has 6 in stock.

thats not the general consensus.  The vast majority of stores globally are sold out.  In fact used wiiU's are getting harder to find because of the Zelda craze.  This doesn't necessarily mean that switch sales are anything special, but if you actually do have 8 switches nearby, I know a lot of people who would be jealous.

But Fox is Fake News...

I know this is a joke, but fox business is actually pretty decent. A shame Fox News is terrible

If only we could transfer all these switch-is-sold-out-everywhere posts into the "Where's the Switch hype?" thread.

Every company is different with pr doesnt mean its useless. Nintendo can just be waiting for quarter report to announce figures. Reports/etc are showing the system is doing well for itself, just got to do some research.

Look at pokemon sumo. They didnt bring up numbers intill much later with pr saying its selling very well and it ended up true. Not every company has to announce numbers every week. Sony does what sony does, as well as nintendo and other conpanies. Only MS has the weird pr lol

Great sales in March-April were obvious. The important part is after that.

I'm a bit surprised about the "better than the Wii" though. The Switch launch is lower than the PS4 launch, but I didn't think that the PS4 was better than the Wii?

The Wii launch had very short supplies. If we're talking strictly US (as Reggie is), the ps4 had a much better first month, as it sold a million on its first day of release. The Wii sold 600k in 8 days, so apparently the Switch is doing better than that. The Wii's stock shortages lasted for a long, long time, though.

Worth noting the Wii's shortages after that initial problematic period were in the face of rather than due to the lack of high production rates.  Nintendo is stepping up Switch production quite substantially so we'll see if the next few months are still restricted.

Still all good news.  Numbers will be more interesting though.

I'd expect nothing less from you Reggie. :p
