Forums - Nintendo - GameStop: Switch has one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories that we’ve seen in a long time.

"That said, the Nintendo Switch has its challenges when it comes to reaching that goal. A recent study found that while half the population of the UK knows what the Nintendo Switch is, only 32 percent of those who heard of it intended to buy one. If that’s the case worldwide, the Nintendo Switch may face a long, uphill battle in its attempt to overtake the Wii."

Wait... what?!

The population of the UK is 64.1 million.

64.1 * 0.5 * 0.32 = 10.26 million

The Wii only sold 8.65 million in the UK! With those projected numbers, how is this an uphill battle?

im pretty sure the "half the uk" thing was pulled out of his backside, it's not like they went around and asked 64.1 million people if they knew what a switch was.

Practices like these is how Nintendo makes more money, aside from milking certain franchises.

Wouldn't call it milking if people aren't feeling franchise fatigue.

Closest thing we got to milking was Pokemon D/P, where people were beginning to feel fatigue from Pokemon. However, they changed it enough to prevent Pokemon from falling.

I don't think any of the big 3 milk their franchises. The only devs I know who is notoriously infamous for milking series is Activision/EA.

So it is like if you committed a crime It is only a crime if someone caught/sees you"?

that's a pretty bad argument.

Milking is generally used when constant titles are released and people begin to feel like they're sick of the series. Look at Infinite Warfare for reference. People began to dislike CoD and wish they change things up.

So Apple is not milking When they release a new phone every 6 months with little upgrades because people still buys it.

Okay, please give us examples of these Nintendo games which are almost identical to previous games of their series with only "little upgrades".

i didn't say that nintendo releases games with little upgrades, its just that my idea of milking is any game with a number or new subtitle/expansion especially if the prevous games is received well(HZD expansion/dlc "strike while the iron is hot i guess) , But milking does not automatically mean bad.

There's a difference between buying a 40-60 dollar game every few years compared to 650-1050 a year :
