Forums - Gaming - If FFXV had been delayed for a year it would've been 90 on da Meta

If they had another year I'd just wish they'd use it to add in additional cutscene storylines. A lot of the story details just seemed cut out (and not for the sake of turning it into DLC). I loved everything about the game except that the story wasn't executed as well as it could have.

I think what they should do now is that after all the DLC storyline games have been released. They should release a complete edition with the DLC storyline actually in with the main storyline. Like when Gladious leaves the group then that's when you play the DLC portion rather than playing it apart from the main game.

I'd love to see a DLC where you play as Lunafreya and teamed up with Gentiana before they reach that town.

If they kept Nomura, then yes it would've been polished for an extra year or two, but I'm okay with how things are now because Final Fantasy VII Remake.

They had more than enough time...

All the devlopment post release has probably been slowed, compared to pre-release. They are definitely not using the full development team on the updates. So it wouldn't have taken a full year, by far.
However they also used feedback to improve the game, which is not possible pre-release, not on the full game and on a wide scale at least.
It will however influence a lot on their future games, especially mainline FF titles. This was their first game of this scale and they learned a lot from it.

They are using 70% of the original team apparently.

That sounds like a huge waste of resource for a game that probably already made most of its (full price) sales. I wonder how big the attach rate is for expansion DLCs.

Every big game that's not excellent would get a quality bump with an additional full year of development, obviously.

I thought the same thing! :D

They should have left that darker, grim tone the original direction had for it, I still haven't played it, but I'm sure it would have been better that way xP

As opposed to the happy, upbeat tone it has now?? There's nothing happy about FF15's story.

That is yet to be seen. From what is currently out, it is still not a 90 to me.

If they improve the later half of the game, then maybe.
These side stories, I really don't care about. I believe they should have been in the game to begin with, but not knowing what Gladius did while he was away was not what was holding this game back.

It was the brutal fetch quests along with the rushed later third of the game.

I like your idea with the gladiolus dlc, that would also increase the length of the main story which is also currently too short imo. I also agree with the storyline stuff, the game definitely felt half baked.

Well the season pass dlc has to be released so im guessing its probably made enough to justify such a big team. Also they'll be working on a PC port aswell as re selling a game of the year edition. It will no doubt make enough to justify that.
