Forums - Nintendo - So Uh Tomb Raider 2013 Is On Shield Console .... Switch Port?

Aren't the Switch's clockspeeds slightly lower than those on the Shield's? I might be wrong on that, but I'm sure the Switch would be able to run either of the Tomb Raider games, just not as well as their competitors. TR 2013 is a great game, but I've played it so many times that there is no way I'm going to buy it again...until it comes out in a Tomb Raider anniversary pack in 2025 or something like that.

Making a collection with both games would be interesting, but yeah, Switch needs new games.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

As long as its under $30... See the issue with porting old games is that more often than not, the publishers price those ports $40-$60 and they expect it to sell even if the game has not only been on every other platform but also costs less. So when they don't sell, the publisher would be like derp, no point in making anymore games for the platform now cause it clearly doesn't sell.

So I'd rather see new/newer games on the platform instead.

I hate that mentality that some companies have when they sell an old game for the high price and then act like the consuemrs were the ones who were wrong.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

How does it run though?

problem is, people would complain about being a low-end version and late into the scene. The thing is, it is a portable version of Tomb Raider which is good. Either way, just have another console to bring a game is always nice.

Tomb Raider (2013) apparently has been ported to the Shield Console, which is basically the same chipset as the Nintendo Switch (Tegra X1). It's $15 for Shield and runs at 720p and came out a couple of days ago.

A port to Switch would be simple I guess, though they'd have to make a undocked version I guess. Would anyone be interested in this?

Except the Switch is weaker than the nVidia Shield TV.

It sets a good precedent though... If a game can run on the Shield TV, then it technically can run on the Switch, maybe with a few downgrades.

But... If it's a port from the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Wii U, then I don't see why it shouldn't eclipse the original releases.

This post is the truth

I would love this game on Switch! It's one of the games I listed as a "dream game". There are so many 7th gen games I'd love to play on the go with no degrades.

Docked it's not really. And before people start parading the 500 GFLOP number, the Shield TV also throttles down to the same clock Eurogamer has the Switch at (394 GFLOPS approx) within a few minutes. Infact Switch is better because it has 4GB of RAM instead 2GB the Nvidia Sheild console does. Undocked, yes they have to make a version that is scaled down.

Does anyone on this board even own a Shield console? lol

I didn't even know there was such a thing. And I buy everything.

I don't want that, though.
