Bug in firmware draining GPU resources?

From what we understand, there is a small issue with the current firmware on Switch which causes a slight drain on GPU resources - once corrected, we're told that Fast RMX should sustain a full 1080p in docked mode.

Taken from the FAST rmx eurogamer review:

That's all the info I received on the matter. Sounds like it's a minor thing but interferes slightly with the adaptive resolution feature. I wouldn't expect huge performance gains in games like Zelda or anything.

Great Thread.

Also:

How the hell does someone manage to scratch the dock like that? That's quite impossible to do when you insert the tablet from the top. You have to be complete careless in order to scratch it like that.

Would like to see his disc collection, though.

Don't like the Switch kickstand? Use the free WiiU controller stand. Works great!

That "Switch grip mod" looks great, btw. I'm going to wait for a third party alternative but I like what I see.

Maybe without joycons attached? It is a bit weird, but I think the aim of the photo is to show the rubber padding at the bottom.

I can attestify that the Switch kickstand works wonderfully.

The grip should be right up your alley, I seem to remember you bought similar grip for you 3DS?

Oh, I like the built in kickstand too. Some people complain, though.

I did buy a grip for my original 3DS. That's an amazing memory you have, there. I still have it! Can't really use it or my Circle Pad Pro since I upgraded to New Nintendo 3DS XL, though.

Whooops, lapsus linguae, I meant to say the WiiU kickstand. It holds the main part of the console better than the built-in stand... still the back vents are somewhat covered by the stand, there is some space in between. The Nintendo case has a built-in stand with a nice orifice that let those vents breathe. The Switch built-in stand itself, for some reason it is located opposite the power/vol buttons, so you can trip the console in tabletop mode when handling those buttons if you don't hold it.

Shame, left over accessories!
I did follow the 3DS launch over here at VGC, just didn't get one in the end, was content with just the DS back then.

OK, here's one. I have a Xtorm AL450 powerbank. What I noticed is that the list linked in the OP states many many readings of about 5 volts, 500mA. And I can confirm the slow declining of battery percentage while playing Zelda with the powerbank attached. However, when I disconnect the cable while it's charging and then reconnect within a few moments it actually starts charging the Switch. Progress is extremely slow, like 1% each 20 or 30 minutes, but it shows this should be providing more power than it's using or in other words, it can't be 5 volts, 500mA...

Not sure what are the voltage and current requirements for the Switch yet.

I've used my old Xiaomi Power Bank and it charges the device, but I don't think it progresses while playing BotW.

Try my approach, play a bit while charging, then disconnect and reconnect. Are what happens. Might be a handshake type thing?

BTW I use a USB 3.1 A-->C cable
