Forums - Nintendo - How does the Switch feel in TV mode?

Some reviews say the quality isn't so hot. I need to know.

I am not really a fan. The text on menus are rendered in 720p so even if you have a 1080p/4k TV, the text will still be at 720p which results to it looking blurry. And I didn't have any issue with the joycon connections but your situation might be different. Zelda on TV mode also runs worse than on portable.

Quality in what regard? The OS is fine. I didn't notice any stutter like in the PS4 OS. But it's currently bare bones anyway so you won't be there for long. Zelda runs and looks terrible of course but what else is new.

Looks of course better in handheld because of the smaller screen.

It should be the same as the Wii U?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Being able to instantly awaken from sleep mode and go right into the game right where you left off is fantastic.

I wish there was a little more hardware power there, but overall I like it.

I like how the system manages all the different controllers too. Just press L/R basically on the controller you want to use and you're to go.

It's absolutely fine, bar two hours in handheld it's the only way I've played it (20 hours?)

The graphics look good on my new 42inch TV and I haven't seen any framerate drop either.

Utterly bemused at those who are saying it stutters and looks rubbish, beginning to wonder if I have different hardware to them...

Oh yeah, totally forgot about that.

It's way better than I expected it. It's as fast and snappy as on a smartphone. Even a full reboot is pretty fast. Might even be the best thing overall on the Switch.

I don't think the problem is the hardware. Sounds more like layer 8 to me.

I´ve seen some framerate drops in Zelda but overall it flows well and the image looks great and it´s my preferred way of playing games. Also, this system is very fast indeed, in handheld and home console mode.

Ridiculous, someone thinks they can make sly technical references in the hope that it won't be understood right?
