Do we believe Reggie through the NYT through The Verge?

Yes. 126 50.81%

No. 80 32.26%

Who's Reggie? 42 16.94%

Total:248

So PS4 is going to lose its first worldwide weak since launch. And Nintendo is going to win a NPD since ages.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Always  excuses  jesus.....fact is ps4 is already  selling  better in the same timeframe , the ones  who actually  stupidity thought  switch will outsell  ps4( or sell as good) are delusional.

+ switch has a launch game people  are hailing  to be the game of.the.genn, ps4 had a meh lineup.

I think the only fact here is that this is still FW sales and it's "delusional" to make any substantial claims about the Switch based off these reports such as the ones you have made. Also, people aren't just hailing BoTW as GoTG, but also one of the best games ever made. So yeah, that would help.

But but Switch will sell similar like Wii U! :D

hmm, so good start in Japan. Not great, but good. Perhaps it could have been great if it had had more stock though? Should have made the rest of the world wait for it and ship 'em all here instead

It's pretty good.  Of course, for being the "savior" of console gaming in Japan, as Nintendo fans were calling it, it's not very good.  Less than the PS4, when the home console market in Japan is a shadow of its former self, and much less than the DS and 3DS.

the only game worth full retail price at launch sold well? who would have thought..

Meanwhile, japanese auction sites are flooded with Switch consoles that scalpers picked up to make a profit on, and barely any have any bids, and the ones that do are so close to retail price that the scalpers wasted their time.
Demand for Switch just isn't there it seems, nobody is bidding on consoles that are more than $50 over retail, which is unheard of for the week following a sold out consoles launch I'd estimate that a LOT of sales were down to scalpers picking them up, too.

I say sold out because the xbox one never actually sold out, they still had day one edition stock on shelves the last time I went into Bic Camera a few months ago.

Hmm, if true, that reminds me of the Wii U.  Scalpers weren't getting much above retail, some breaking even.  Wonder if this means demand is going to slowly fade like the Wii U's and, to a lesser extent, the 3DS's.  If so, I'm guessing we are going to be getting a price cut in ~6 months.

Edit: Oh, and @ OP

Yea, this is a very strange way for this info to break.  I think I'll wait til an official announcment.  I mean, this is like some saying they heard from a friend of a friend.  Not saying it isn't true, just seems weird.  Also, first two days?  What happened to Sunday?  Did sales drop enough to not claim bestselling for the first three days?

Well its not liké if WE didnt warn them.

Most here thought Switch would easily outsell PS4 on Japzn thinking it would sell liké a handheld console, they will bé surprised to see its not the case

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

So Wii sold 600,000 in 8 days. So I'd say less than 400,000 in 2 days?

So if Switch sold more than Wii for the first 2 launch days. Switch sold more than 400,000

Not that impressive. Ps4 1million sold day 1. We all knew Switch was going to sell well right off the gun.

Keep in mind the higher price and the offseason launch of the Switch.

Keep in mind that ps4 1million day record doesnt include japan sale and based from NA sale only. Ps4 release date for japan is on feb 2014, not the same as worldwide release which is on nov 2014

I take it you're referring exclusively to Japan with those statements? How was the scalping for the 3DS? PS4? I know that in the US, Gone are the days where you could get over $1000 for your launch day console, but i was still able to flip my Switch on eBay for $100 more than what I payed for it, including tax.

Yes just Japan, it's the market i'm most familiar with, Scalping for 3DS was pretty bad, same for PS4 and PS4 Pro once the initial stock had sold out, even PSVR was scalped for 2x retail or more, and even now is still being sold for $200 over retail.

Even the Nes classic was selling for 1.5-2x retail after initial stock had sold out - and Switch HAS sold out, but the demand for them at auction just isn't there.

Console launches in general seem to have become more and more inflated over the years, hence why the PS4 and XBO had record smashing launches, and while the PS4 is selling pretty quickly, it's nowhere near the pace of the systems it launched above (like the PS2 and Wii), and the XBO is just doing meh. So imo, the launch doesn't mean much. Heck, just look at Japan, same thing going on there. The PS4 launched with twice as much as the PSP, but the PSP sold at least twice as much as the PS4 will lifetime.

PSP sold 82 million, if you think the PS4 will sell < 41 million lifetime, you might want to realize that it's already sold 50m as of December last year.
