Forums - Nintendo - Zack And Wiki, FUN or frustrating ?

Oh definately, I haven't completed one of them yet... I don't know what's wrong with my timing (or perhaps I am shaking the remote the wrong way)... However those are not particularly integral to the game, I think all they do is upgrade Wiki in some way.

I like the tunes I come up with but it seems the game doesn't, lol... yeah, some give you an upgrade for Wiki (the range the bell affects increases) or a Treasure Map. Anyways, completed the 1st run of game last weekend, so in the second run I hope I can at least DO one Bonelich challenge.

I don't see what being left handed would have to do with anything, and it's only frustrating if you're impatient, stupid and want to shoot something. It's incredibly fun mind bending game, with brilliant puzzles and artwork.

It can be annoying for lefty's because all the Wii special actions are assuming you're holding the remote in your right hand. For things like sawing or using a hammer that's fine, for things like turning a crank it can get a little annoying.

Still though, I'm left handed and was a little bothered by that but the game is so very much worth it. It can be frustrating when you just can't figure a puzzle out, but it's a puzzle game so that's pretty much intentional.

Lefty's generally have a way of doing things backwards so sometimes you can confuse the game.

-edit-

And yeah, I can't figure out the music challenges for the life of me.

I completed the main story bit about 6 weeks ago, and have since done a few of the extra treasures after but they are a bit obscure compared to the main level puzzles so I have only got about 15.

I say go for it. What I've played shows it's a great game, and I've been meaning to pick this up for a while now. :)

I will try it next time I put it in.

What about the hats that don't work like in Mad Science or Barbaros Land?... I ring the bell and the guy doesn't pop up.

Is it just because I haven't done one of them yet, so I have to complete one of the ones I can (which sem to be white hatted) before I can get to the others (red and blue hats?)

I end up posting this every time the rhythm game is brought up. The main problem with this game is control, and there's no question that it's a flaw in the game that these controls aren't clearer.

The problem is that the game leads you to believe that the music game uses motion controls. You think that shaking the wiimote to the beat will win the game, but it won't. This game actually uses the IR camera, not the accelerometer. You're meant to point the wiimote at the screen at the right moment so that the camera sees a streak of IR light on the beat. Once you understand this, the game should feel much more responsive.

FYI, the fishing game is also based on IR.

O_O those use IR? Swordfighting was also hit and miss, jejeje...

I'm gonna do the music one, turning on and off the lights. Thanks for the heads up famoursringo and Rol, guess I'm really going to complete one soon :D

I'm not really enjoying it, and couldn't recommend it to most people. I passionately HATE the "timed" elements within the puzzle levels - and most of the levels have these in some form. The controls aren't good or accurate enough for timed elements, and I have frustratingly died too many times as a result.

And look out - the game saves behind your back - something I only discovered recently. Its a 7/10 for me.

Oh yeah - that music mini-game is way too hard (might be the controls). Seems that you have to get the timing PERFECT (i.e. miss one, and you fail). I just don't get it.

It is frustrating on some levels where u get stuck, but its still very fun if ur into completening puzzles/exploration..
