Apparently I was CAD 73.44 curious, that's what I paid today for 1-2 switch, plus CAD 90.39 for Zelda and CAD 451.99 for the console. It better be worth it, or no buying CAD 101.70 pro controllers nor CAD 158 joycons plus charge grip. Those linear resonant actuators must be made of gold.

Yeah I'm torn on the pro controller, I may just see if I can't snag one at a store release night and sit on it until I can see if how far away I sit from the TV affects the Joy-con connection.  I don't know why I've turned into such a tight ass recently but I hate spending that much on the controller.  I would love to buy a couple extra stands but there is no way I'm spending that much on those USD $90. Perhaps some people will only want to play the switch in portable mode and will eBay their docks (highly unlikely I'm sure but it doesn't cost anything but time to do a search on eBay).

An extra dock would be useful, however it isn't even listed here and would probably be 120 or 135 after tax. I got a 360 for 15 a few months ago lol. It just doesn't sit right when the Nes Classic with 30 games and controller costs $10 less than 1 single controller, and 60% of the price of a dock... Anyway I dropped $700 off at the game store today for the Switch and Horizon Zero dawn, haven't spend that much in one visit since the ps3 release.

So the main difference was how fast it could start and stop rumbling?

Doesnt sound so impressive.

I'm going to be getting a switch some times. So I will be trying it some time. I give it a very small chance that I will actually find the rumble will make the game better. I'm hoping for just being able to stand it, assuming I can't turn it off.

Rumble technologies on all Nintendo consoles have been optional so if it's still not your thing, you won't have to suffer through it.

Do be aware that developers are looking at ways of using it directly in the games making it a requirement.

Developers making games that must be played using HD Rumble is a good thing in my opinion. It means those developers like the tech and are making games around it.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Well Maybe Mario ( and still not éven sure ) so in à long time.

No, im just looking at thé fact its not used when it should and im far to bé thé only One to think that.

And whats your source for Mario Kart ? From what i ttried it doesnt  ... ( I remind There was reports from some journalists that Mario Kart AND Zelda use it before Aonuma debunk it for Zelda )

Zelda was only rumored.  Mario Kart is confirmed by VentureBeat though, again, it's not full use...whatever that is supposed to actually mean.  Other upcoming and confimed titles are Arms and Splatoon 2.  That's at least 3 (4 including Switch 1-2) from Nintendo before Mario even shows up.

Venturebeat is not nintendo so i wouldnt call this a confirmation, some journalists also confirmed feeling something on Zelda during tests before it was unconfirmed by Nintendo.

Same for Splatoon( didnt feel anything There) and Arms ( though Maybe this one), these are rumors until confirmed by nintendo

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

I disagree with all my heart.

There was a charming little RPG released early in the life of the PS3.  I liked everything about it--that is, until the combat started.  It turned out that to finish off enemies, you had to shake the bloody controller like you were strangling a cat.  Completely ruined the game for me and I never went back, all because the developer had to jump on the "new controller tech" bandwagon.

I didn't say developers should make bad use of HD Rumble, but as you just said, some of them will have some really bad ideas on how to use the tech. It will be a learning experience for them, as all new tech is. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Indeed. Like 1-2 switch, and horror game I believe I saw.

Simply gives me the choice "buy it and hope the rumble feels good" or "don't buy it".

As long as I can turn it off in Xenoblade, Mario, or Fire emblem - I have no problem. Just a longing for less expensive hardware.

The Joy-cons and console are priced at what Nintendo thinks they can get away with. The HD feedback appears to be cheap technology probably cheaper than the rumble motors in a normal joypad so they aren't costing you more money and probably without them wouldn't make any difference to the prices Nintendo charge.
