Indeed. Like 1-2 switch, and horror game I believe I saw.

Simply gives me the choice "buy it and hope the rumble feels good" or "don't buy it".

As long as I can turn it off in Xenoblade, Mario, or Fire emblem - I have no problem. Just a longing for less expensive hardware.

The Joy-cons and console are priced at what Nintendo thinks they can get away with. The HD feedback appears to be cheap technology probably cheaper than the rumble motors in a normal joypad so they aren't costing you more money and probably without them wouldn't make any difference to the prices Nintendo charge.
