Forums - Nintendo - Why doesn't Nintendo let estabished indie devs borrow their IPs ?

Aren't indies more passion projects? And if they are being contracted by big companies are they truly 'Indie'?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Short answer is: They do.

Long answer is that no-one really considers an established studio working on an established franchise with a big publisher like Nintendo owning and funding the entire production "indie" anymore.

They do sometimes act as publisher for new IP from "indie" developers though. Fluidity/Hydroventure and a couple titles on 3DS are examples of this.
