Forums - Sony - Free Radical: PC and 360 Haze "aren't being worked upon"

Pretty stupid thing for Free Radical to do; it's going to bomb.

Hopefully they realise that Timesplitters is all we want after this.

@ Profcrab

I agree... nothing like bright, glowing enemies in a subdued-lighting environment to make the game really challenging.

I certainly hope they offer a way to turn that option off.

After playing Timesplitters again yesterday, I do have a little more hope for this game. Hopefually they'll make it unique enough to work.

Is anyone excited about this game? I have too many shooters now to care. ^_^

Unless, of course, it was 360 exclusive. Then you'd care alot.

The jungle does look kind of dreary, and the colours are a little dull, but this will be an excellent game, as FR have done a great job in the past

This game needs moar mouse/keyboard.

I don't really see a big reason for the excitement. What is the purpose of having all that jungle if you are going to give people a vision option that makes targeting enemies like shooting Bozo the Clown at a funeral. It doesn't really look overly impressive. The gameplay still might be fun but I generally don't fork out $60 for a game that is too much like other games and this game looks kinda flavorless. The story might also stick out but we can't really tell from the short videos.

Of course, Resistance 1 was kinda of bland also. A decent shooter but you could have replaced the monsters with guns with Nazis and the small little chasers with german shepherds and called it Medal of Honor X without actually changing any of the gameplay. Resistance 2 looks like it's trying to do more. Haze doesn't.

You obviously havent been following this game.  I haven't either but some interesting things I've heard about it.

A. that lush jungle you see is probably a bunch of withered dried trees.

B. in order to heighten your senses like that you need to use the drug named Nectar

C. Using too much Nectar gives side effects. I'm pretty sure friendlies will OD and start shooting at you periodically in the game. (go look at the screen shot that looks like someone drank too much alcohol I'm pretty sure thats the OD effect)

D The government is trying to make a utopia or some crap. The armor you are wearing blocks out what the real world looks like. The rebels are trying to open the peoples eyes. Thos rebels have the ability to fake dead. You suit blocks out dead bodies.

It's probably for the best that the game isn't being made for the 360 and PC. Judging by the gameplay videos the game likely wouldn't be able to rise above other games on those systems. Of course there's a good developer behind the game so maybe it plays much better than it looks.

Sony is looking very strong in the FPS genre. What with Haze, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 all being exclusive.

Haze is being tested at our local Ubisoft studio in Bucharest. The testers are very unhappy with its graphics, and constantly bash the game. Also, I've learned that Free Radical and Ubisoft are pushing hard for an april demo release on the PS3.

About the game being PS3 exclusive... According to my sources inside the studio, the "PS3 exclusive" tag is just a marketing and PR stunt! Windows PC builds of the game have been also tested in Bucharest, and it is said the PC game looks a lot better than the PS3 game.

However, Ubisoft Bucharest will not properly test the PC and 360 versions of Haze, claiming that working with Free Radical is very difficult and time consuming. Rest assure, Haze is NOT a PS3 exclusive. They only want you to think so.
