Forums - Nintendo - CNET apparently understands physics

This is not as funny as the OP is trying to spin it. That kick stand looks flimsy as heck.

So another "this video doesn't deserve any views" video.
Yet has an entire thread dedicated to it, which is asking people to view the video - you don't want getting views?

Seems a common trend these days.

edit: That said, not a very impressive stand.

The video brings a good point- it isn't the best stand in the world. However, there is no point in exaggerating it.

If a video introduces an actual piece of criticism, it deserves views (and not dislikes). Unfortunately, they presented this in a bad way.

Could the stand be better? Of course, but common sense says you should probably take the joycons out and then put it into kickstand mode. You don't just yank a phone out of the charging cord, do you? You hold the phone down and then remove the cord carefully. I think the same applies to the joycons.

Well I agree the system should be treated carefully like any tablet.  Dropping it is just going to lead to damaged bezels and screens since this is not your typical empty plasticky Nintendo hardware.  I'm curious to see what kind of protective cases are made for switch, since the removable joycons will make that a bit tricky.

Btw, common sense aside -- every Nintendo Switch commercial shows pepwle just sliding the Joycons off while the system is standing on it's kickstand.

This. Basically, don't push buttons or touch the screen when in stand mode.

._.

If you are going to act like this is going to cause such a big issue, you're always free to use a case.

Also, what purpose would justify you touching the screen in stand mode? If you're gonna adjust it, it is typically smart to do so with two hands. Kind of strange how they somehow knocked it down when 'playing'

"On anything other than a completely stable, flat surface, the Nintendo Switch's kickstand falls flat."  - Description CNET made on the video

Yeah this was pretty bad. Like beyond pretty bad just awful...

I hate it when things fall over when I push them, terrible design flaw!

Pretty stupid video, kinda reminds me of when the ps4 launched and the internet was making a big deal that if you push down on one side it moved.

Yeah, this is pretty stupid. Of course the thing will fall over if you push it over. The Switch has its faults...but this is trying way too hard.

Those Youtube comments are pretty funny though. And I hate Youtube comments.

Wow.. The lengths some go to discredit Nintendo. I thought I've seen it all but this hits a new high (or I guess low?)

I mean, the way the guy was manhandling the thing, unless you're on the bumpiest plane or train ride of the century I can't see how this would be an issue..

"We hold these truths to be self-evident - all men and women created by the, go-you know.. you know the thing!" - Joe Biden

Added my dislike. This is pathetic. It reminds me of when Giant Bomb pressed on one side of the PS4 in order to show it was unstable.

The PS5 Exists.
