Forums - Nintendo - Prototype Joy-con Grip was V shaped

Which do you prefer?

Retail grip 18 40.91%

Prototype grip 13 29.55%

Who cares! Joycons disconnect 6 13.64%

See results 7 15.91%

Total:44

Saw this mentioned in the Nintendo Minute in which they talked with producer Yoshiaki Koizumi regarding obscure Switch details.
We already saw a grip like that when the patents came out, so it is nice to have confirmation of its validity.

Thought it was interesting that they played around with the grip's orientation. Which do you prefer?

Looks better, but I'm assuming it's worse since they didn't go for it.

Though it might be square shaped now because one of the grip models have the built in battery. As far as I've heard it's comfortable though, and in the end that's what matters to me.

That looks even more uncomfortable than the retail one...

Hard to say if this would be more comfortable, but I'm sure Nintendo tested this a lot to see which was better and more comfortable

Nope. This looks uncomfortable. I like the actual one better. It would've made more sense to have the v upside down.

Edit: actually looking at it again, you would be holding it the same just the buttons located slightly different. My previous opinion was wrong but I still like the actual grip better.

I'm not sure, the lower analogue stick might have been anoying to use,
but the placement does seem to cover the arc your thumb would make.

Looks like a vagina.

Retail feels good!

Switch!!!

I think it's good that they kept the design consistent with portable mode. Even something as minor as going from an angle to horizontal might effect the feel of the game. Maybe.

Do none of you notice that the patent looks like the GameCube set-up?
