Forums - Gaming - Call of Duty 2017 will take Call of Duty back to its roots

They'll never take COD back into it's roots until they get rid of the pay to win care packages. Until they get microtransactions off of COD entirely, it will still be another gimmicky COD.

When activision smell money.

If they are adding stuff to what is meant to be a remastered game...

If they had just released it as a stand alone download only on Xbox Store and PSN Store, they would have made more money than these silly supply drops would bring in because only the people stupid enough to buy the Deluxe Edition of IW own it and many only bought it to get this game. Gamers annoy meas much as the publishers do because they are the reason these things are in the games.

Hmm, pie.

Just Treyarch. AW was absolutely terrible.

Treyarch is a pretty bad developer. Their recent campaigns (Black Ops 2 and 3) are absolutely terrible. Advanced Warfare was waaaaay better (and Ghosts too).

No idea about multiplayer though, which I honestly don't give a fuck about.

Yeah well thats were the real sales come from and most people would agree that Treyarch are in a league of their own when compared to the other CoD studios.

CoD beat GTA in US at 2013?

In revenue, yes. All CoD > All GTA

But not in units sold?

It's very close from the figures I can find.

GTA Series - 235 Million (September 2015)

CoD Series - 250 Million (February 2016)

As in... World War 2?

Haven't bought a COD since Black Ops 2 and.... that wouldn't change my mind
I'd like something that hasn't been done before, and WW2 has been done to death. Why not one set during the Korean war or something?

True, World War 2 has been done to death... But that was a few console generations ago... The last notable FPS World War 2 game was Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway and Call of Duty: World at War last generation.

I would love to see what they could do with the WW2 as the theme... It would also help ground balance as well, so many gimmicky guns that you might try once in allot of FPS games before you settle on a favorite these days.

Would also love to see other theatre's of war as well, but would love to start off with WW1 and progress forwards in time, the reason why Battlefield 1 felt so fresh and new was because it wasn't just another modern shooter.

Im really craving for a good WW2 FPS. BF1 is a great game but I always preferred the more run&gun approach of CoD.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

someone saw the sales of battlefield 1 and thought "oh, maybe it is time to revisit ww1/2"

Not really.
Half of the people don't even get to level 10.

while the other half don't beat more than the first level

https://www.trueachievements.com/a209599/cant-hide-achievement?showguides=1 (most likely gotten by playing mission 1 or 2)

So yeah SP and MP seem equally important.

I wouldn't take them at face value like that. Most games on PSN I look at the trophy you get for literally beating the first level (of a game with only campaign), and it is only achieved by 70% of players.

I have to agree with Barozi. After World at War I was excited to see what Treyarch would do with Black Ops. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. Black Ops played like a rail shooter and Black Ops II was even worse, with those frustrating Strike Force missions. I couldn't bring myself to play part III.
