I don't care about the box art. I like physical games but never gave two shits and a fuck about art work.  The box art might have drawn me to buy crappy games during the NES era but that is about it.  They could put a giant turd on the front cover and I wouldn't care as long as I enjoy the game.

Yes, it's very important (I say this as a retail collector).

And furthermore the cover is the first thing people see when they buy games so this means that a lot people already judge games by only seeing the cover.

Yes. Good cover art is memorable, makes the game look more interesting than the others on the shelf, in the store and at home.

But just because it's bad won't stop me from buying a game I want :p

The cover does influence games I don't know much about though

I love a good cover, which is why it's a shame that most game covers these days are "guy with a gun".
