Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo of EU survey gauging franchise recgonition includes GTA, CoD and Candy Crush

http://gonintendo.com/stories/273318-nintendo-europe-survey-gauges-franchise-recognition-includes-gta

"A survey from Nintendo Europe is asking fans to share the franchises they're familiar with. As you can see in the image above, the survey includes Nintendo franchises, as well as third party franchises like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto. No idea what Nintendo is going to do with the results of this survey or why they've chosen these games in particular, so make of it what you will! Thanks to AwesomePlatterFan for the heads up."

Far from any sort of confirmation but possibly might have interesting implications for third parties. Thoughts?

You know that Nintendo is now also a smartphone game developer?
What is so crazy about Nintendo seeing how their own fan base engages in games beyond Nintendo?

It's been my theory for awhile that Nintendo would attempt to get as many well known smartphone games as possible on the Switch, especially in Japan.  There hasn't been any indication of that since the reveal but maybe they're still working on it.  Seems like a no-brainer for a portable, to be honest.

I was kidding. Definitely nothing wrong with it, but I just find it funny seeing Candy Crush next to huge names such as GTA.

I honestly don't mind, since I can always ignore it.

Only problem is I know app sizes can be small upon downloading it, but can balloon to ridiculous sizes. If the switch thinks of putting mobile apps, they'll definitely have to keep it at a reasonable size.

The reason for this is most likely to help Nintendo know where they're on the gaming map. This seems almost like non-news.

Might be an attempt by Nintendo to show Take Two/Rockstar that Nintendo fans are interested in GTA.

Nintendo finally doing some homework.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Probably to gauge interest, but I don't think this would really change anything

I do wonder if Nintendo mobile games will come to the Switch though

I'm less interested in GTA and CoD than Red Dead and Battlefield.
