Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 update 4.50 adds PS4 Pro boost mode, improves gameplay without patch

So...blast processing?

Hm I guess there might be some games that behave differently based on the HW performance (kind of like why you had to hit the 'turbo' button to slow down your PC if running an old DOS game back in the day). But, hopefully most games won't have this problem.

Holy shit!!! This is the patch I have been waiting for! Cant wait to play bloodborne on it

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Posted on GAF. The Evil Within: better framerate and slightly faster load times. MANY Gaffers I respect are excited about this but I'm not sure where the info is coming from because I know little about the game. I'm assuming they're just using the 'visual' information to make that judgement. I'll ask:

The PS5 Exists.

Wow!! Time to buy a pro

GAF:

Just tried F1 2016 and it's turbo locked at 60fps and wet racing seems much smoother and higher framerate. Interestingly although F1 2016 was no slouch at load times, it seems even quicker than before.

Bloodborne loading times are noticeably better from comparing with and without Boost mode, hadn't progressed far with my current character so couldn't really get into any demanding scenes to compare performance.

The PS5 Exists.

So what we really need is a list of incompatible titles. It will be games like Tomb Raider 2013 with unlocked frame rates unless they have upper end caps. Also, since all VR games are 60+FPS, I don't think this applies to VR.

Okay well the difference is clear in this video.  A pretty massive boost.

looks like low production PS4 Pro is going to sell out again next shipment...

Sony really need to produce more of it
