And, as others have said, sales have risen substantialy year over year, and a good bit of that can be attributed to the release of good games.  Maybe few spiked sales specifically, but taken as a whole they have caused people to buy ps3s.

Not to mention, this is MGS, and this particular MGS has the most hype of any MGS yet.  This game will definitely sell systems.

I just don't see this game exploding Ps3 sales. Japan is definitely not buying it in hordes. The other games didn't even break 1m over there.

Either way, looks like a really good buy for a ps3 owner.

I reckon MGS4 will do better in Japan than the previous games.  The base is almost entirely hardcore and we've seen in the USA that PS3 owners will buy decent games at higher attach rates than 360 owners because the system has less great games to occupy them.

This could play in favour of a large number of Japanese gamers running out and buying the game.

Bioshock - Not really.  It was, and is, a really good game.  but it isn't that game.  

I think that there is no game that is going to deliver like MGS4 is.  This game wil be so full of win.  But who knows what the big three have up their sleeve this E3, there could be games above and beyond all the ones we've mentioned.  

But MGS4 will be the game that defines June! lawl.

I've never really liked any stealth games before.  My little bro does though, so I might pick this up cheap for him when I get a PS3, if it doesn't hit the 360 within a year.

With regards to Mass Effect,I'm referring mainly to it's dialogue and story-telling systems, rather than anything else.
