According to some people, more than the Wii U.
According to some other people, more than the PS4.

I'll take the easy way out and say however much it takes to sell 500 million pieces of software.

PS4 is abit over 401m by start of year (without counting PS+ or f2p ect games).

I suspect even if PS4 stopped selling today (hardware), itd probably hit that milestone anyways, before PS5 launch.

Pretty sure if Xbox hits 50m lifetime, its software sales will be well over 500m too.

More than ps4.

You can be a success without being #1.

I doubt any here expect the Xbox One to go over 110m.

Xbox One is targeted in the same market as PS4. So the same amount as PS4. 360 almost did it. The same stands for software sales.

Fuck, they almost have the very same tech inside. They got mid gen upgrades. Online paywall. DLC. Multiplats. Scorio is rumored to support VR.

40m plus is pretty good and they will easily reach that target.

It's already a success.

The PS5 Exists.

The Xbox One is a great console. It's pacing really well. I don't understand some people's mentality on it (not saying you OP). Funny enough, I didn't even look at the rest of the comments when I voted on the polls. Seems I'm with the consensus. Sales wise...it would have to be between 45-50 mil sold. However, I think the Xbox One is already successful. It's quite an appealing console.

Depends on if you count scorpio as a New Gen as some people on here do, or just a mid cycle upgrade like PS4 Pro.

If you see Scorpio as a new Gen then Xbox 1 was a complete failure.

I believe MS see it as a mid gen upgrade and i think it will help them push past 60m life time and i would consider that successful, especially with the disaster of a launch 3 years ago.

So I think we can all agree X1 reveal is a disaster like no other.

So VG Chartz has it at 28 million, but how many does it need to sell to be worthwhile endeavor?

Fixed

True. With the original launch plans it would have been a real disaster.

With the current momentum I think X1 will fall between 60 and 70 million. Unless there is another X1 after Scorpio, then higher.
