With Sun and Moon having been out for a few months, it's time to speculate on what other games will come in Gen 7! For reference, here's a table of previous generations:

GEN 1:
Main versions: Red/Green/Blue
Third version: Yellow

GEN 2:
Main versions: Gold/Silver
Third version: Crystal

GEN 3:
Main versions: Ruby/Sapphire
Third version: Emerald
Remakes: FireRed/LeafGreen

GEN 4:
Main versions: Diamond/Pearl
Third version: Platinum
Remakes: HeartGold/SoulSilver

GEN 5:
Main versions: Black/White
Sequel versions: Black 2/White 2

GEN 6:
Main versions: X/Y
Remakes: Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

So, will Sun and Moon have a third version? Will Diamond and Pearl be remade? Will we (finally) get sequels again? Some combination of those three?

Give your predictions here! You can predict names for these hypothetical games as well.

Around the Network

Stars on Switch is pretty much the 3rd version.

Beyond that, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Diamond and Pearl get the remake treatment.

Isnt "Pokemon Stars" a confirmed third version of the 7th gen to be released for the Switch? Or is it just a rumor?

After playing pokemon reborn i can't play the mainstream pokemon games. I'd love a difficulty setting in the game, i'd prefer a sequel over a remake.

My prediction: Diamond and Pearl remakes for November 2017, for 3DS

Sun 2 Moon 2 are possible as well, since S/M are more story driven like Black and White. A third version which is a continuation of S/M instead of a definite version is likely. Whichever thing happens, I predict November 2017 for 3DS.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Stars is just a codename that was mentioned in a Rumour, S/M were known as Pokémon Rainbow before they were announced so it's neither confirmed to be a sequel or to actually exist

I hope they won't rush through gen 7 and that we will get at least one other game before the next gen starts.

I'd personally like to see gen 1 remakes, since the only gen 1 game I ever played was Pokémon Yellow on virtual console last year, and it was horribly dated. Gen 4 remakes would be fine too, I haven't played Platinum in a long time.
