About $40, which is nothing to sneeze at.

The devs are looking at it from a tech price point of view. That's not everyone's view on value though. |
AMD VR is crap compare with Nvidia VR so maybe it can give us a little surprise on that front.
34 years playing games.
I feel that HD rumble is something you need to feel for yourself to truly be able to understand it, much like VR, so I am pretty hopeful it's something good

Funny someone mentioned a vertical mode, that could bring DS compatibility
Surprising so many expected higher price? Bandai Namco even says "The price is exactly what I’d expect from a marketing point of view, but if you count all the individual peripherals… The full thing is pretty cheap, and I say that as someone familiar with the inner workings of the system. I have no idea how they kept the price that low".

29,980 is the cost. I will assume that A) Japan uses VAT, and B) that is the value post VAT. This that is the final price point with tax included and everything. That is $260 dollars US. It cost $300 dollars US and that is pre tax. So around $330 or so post tax. That is a $70 dollars difference. |
Are you sure about that? Manuel mentioned the Switch prices in a store (I think it was Bic Camera) are marked without taxes.

I really hope as many japanese devs as possible are getting the NS dev kits, this thing will need a massive japanese support as soon as possible. The Switch is tailor made for Japan.
'I did the “Pro-Wrestling LOVE Pose” at the presentation, but I don’t think people were digging it. But it broke the ice with the audience, so I think I’ll keep doing it. I’ll call it “SWITCH LOVE”'
SUDA is the best! XD

I think the PSVita and the 3DS needs to die for the Switch to REALLY get that support. But of course, Nintendo needs to make the first move to bring the Nintendo fans on this.

Lol yes! That was funny. When I saw a glimpse of the audience, there were all wearing business suits....... I can see why they weren't digging it XD

Edit: Been living in Japan for long? Prices are normally with or without tax?
The japanese price rounds off to 30k, plus with your tax figure that goes to 32.4k.
Compared to the 329eur post-tax price, that would be 263eur, around 70eur under Europe's retail price.
Compared to 300usd pre-tax price, it's 260usd, the 40 bucks pokoko mentioned for the US.
| Bandorr said: Not sure no. VAT as a whole is new to me. So when someone gives a price I can't tell if is pre or post VAT. So I just started assuming it was all post VAT. Assuming pre tax. And a tax of 8(I was rounding to 10 to be simple) percent. It is 32378.4 yen. That is $281 us. Compared to $324 us. So still a $43 dollar difference. |
Yeah, that's the value I ninja'd.
In Europe the price difference is a pro controller, while in the US it's Puyo Puyo Tetris.
