Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games that ruined entire franchises

Out of curiousity, why do people hate Pokémon X/Y so much?

Around the Network

Not ruined entirely but let's say disappointed after previous enjoyment.

Final Fantasy XII after which FFXIII made it worse.
Assassins Creed III
Arkham Knight
Far Cry 4
Star Ocean 4
Shadow Hearts From the new world

Arkham Knight: Every time I want to go out and do some fun Batman stuff I have to spend about an hour finding a place to park my damn car.

?????

I totally agree that Knight is the worst in the series and has a lot of problems, but you know you can just jump out of the car at any time, right?

Doesn't quite count, but WipEout Fusion.

Luckily, Studio Liverpool managed to save the franchise by going back to basics with Pure, but I really thought WipEout was dead after that game. It's not awful per se, but it's so far removed from what made WipEout great that I was pretty much ready to be done with the series.

but why? the framerate is going to be fixed, the art style looks like xenoblade chronicles but better and the world looks massive.

this

doesn't look better than this

Just trying to understand why you think it looks "so bad"

Not everything's about graphics. Basically bland trailer, bad art direction for characters (couldn't be more vanilla and main character just looks bad), story line appears to be neutered to basically an escort character A to paradise B, hijinks ensues. I'm more than willing to admit it's just a first teaser, but it looks bad.

It'd be like if a new Suikoden released and it didn't have you looking for the 108 stars and didn't involve warfare politics.

Oh yeah you know the plot and characters already with one trailer! Cheers!

Other M singlehandedly killed Metroid and who knows when/IF it will ever recover from that

Super Smash Bros. Melee funny enough.

Thank you!

I can think of one

Halo 4.
Silent Hills...
Metal Gear Solid 5 : the phantom pain (in this case, it effed the entire franchise because of the budget, not because was bad)

Cant think of any other that Ive played...
