I agree. Well, except for the graphics, that game looks gorgeous on my PC. But everything else just isn't for me, to put it mildly. The story is dumb, the enemies are dumb, the puzzles are dumb. It's all just really boring. I was looking forward to this game, as I'm a huge Tomb Raider fan ever since the 90s. I even loved Underworld which no one else seemed to like. But this game is the new rock bottom of the series for me. It lacks more creativity than ever before, even more than Angel of Darkness. There's no heart in this game, the devs just rolled with what market researchers told them is the hot shit right now.

There weren't many times where I was this disappointed by a game.

The PS4 and XB1 versions suffer from input lag, which could be part of the problem with the gameplay. PC is the way to go with ROTTR.

Gameplay is very subjective, but when it comes to the graphics they are objectively far beyond last gen. The graphics have been analyzed to death, and while there are certain issues (even Uncharted 4 has imperfections in its graphics), the effects and techniques used cannot be replicated on the 360/PS3, in addition to the added resolution, polycount, and texture quality over last gen software.

It was definitely 5 bucks last week. This past Friday was a Flash Sale that had every game under 5 dollars. Tomb Raider: Definitive Version was one of those games. I should know....I bought it. :)

I disagree with the graphics part but the rest is all true, probably the most disappointing game i played in 2016. that and FFXV

I just finished it on PS4, and also agree. Everything about this game is mediocre. I give it a weak 7. How people were comparing it to Uncharted 4?

PS4 version was fixed shortly after launch.

In fact Xbox One version is the only one with input lag issues (ironic) since it was timed exclusive for it and the only version developed by Crystal Dynamics.

Well, everyone has opinions. Overall, I still found the game enjoyable. Might go back to it for some trophy hunting.

Yeah, Underworld was quite good, maybe not as good as TR1/2, but with that and Anniversary, TR was heading in the right direction...and sales were quite decent, 3.5millions is nothing to scoff at. This modern TR has absolutely nothing to do with proper TRs.
