"I'd rather it was another RE6 explosion fest than this cliché indie horror game."

Coming from you, that's not trashing it?

Coming from me, thats not trashing it. Remember i'm not the one that has an unfavorable opinion of RE6, you are (presumably). RE6 is an explosion fest, but it's fun. I want the series to go more in the direction of revelations and the remakes/originals. This is a completely different direction with a completely different feel.

Maybe saying its a cliché indie game? That depends on what you think about indie games. But its inescapable that that is what it is. Look at outlast and tell me it doesn't draw inspiration from it (or PT for that matter). Theres many of those indie games around... thus: cliché. Would you rather i said, unoriginal? It's the same thing. It's not trashing, it's a verification of fact. I'm criticizing the type of game, not the game itself.

RE 6 is a bad game, period. And not even fun at that.Wether you like it or not, RE 7 is a better game by just comparing the scores.Wether you personally like it more than the other, its outside the point.Critic wise, RE 6 is bad and RE 7 is better because its going into a direction that seems right for the series. And what is that direction? Its the same one of the early RE games.Just because its on first person dosent change that fact.

And its not a cliche indie game, and thats a fact.Just the fact that the game is an AAA game makes it a non indie game, so by that alone makes you wrong, but also the persception that games in general, indie, AA or AAA, cant influence one another makes your claim even more wrong. What is wrong about taking the good parts of good games and putting them into your own games?Every single company does that.Every single one.And if you go by that line of thought, every single game is unoriginal. So what makes a game original?Original is when you do something that feels fresh. And for all accounts, the reviewers feel that this is a fresh entry in the series.Plus sazing that this is similar to Outlast just because of the trailers is silly.I still havent played the game and I saw no spoilers, but you almost always have the option to fight your way through, with some exceptions. That comparison is grasping at straws.

Now, if you like the game or not, or if you think the game is for you, its completely personal and I respect your opinion. But when you go on saying stuff as fact when they arent, thats when you are wrong.

Resident Evil 6 isn't a bad game, though. Mediocre, perhaps. But it ain't a bad game.

Edit: critic-wise it ain't bad either, unless you think anything under 75 in meta becomes instant crap.

RE6 was the bottom of the series, it's not even a good TPS.

The only review I was really interested in, UploadVR. They played the whole game with PSVR and loved it.

I can no longer tell if the heavy breathing I hear is coming from my own mouth, or from the mouth of Ethan, the main protagonist I’m controlling in Resident Evil 7 on PS4 using a PS VR headset. Using my actual body, I lean forward on my couch, craning my neck around the in-game corner to my left, trying to see if Jack, the hulking mass of seemingly invincible mutated flesh, has passed by yet. Just before I take my step around the corner, much to my horror, Jack grabs me from behind and for a moment it’s as if I can feel his breath and spit on my face. He throws me to the ground, cursing at me, and raises his shovel high above his head. With a loud thud, he slams it down into my shin, slicing my leg in half. For a split second there’s the illusion of pain — a sudden twitch of realism — before Ethan bleeds out and dies not just before my eyes, but within myself, as I sit there stunned inside the immersive power of virtual reality.

Honestly, I don’t know if the world is ready for a game like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in VR and that’s exactly what makes it so exhilarating.

Final Score: 9/10 – Amazing

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard sets a new bar for survival horror games and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best games in the franchise’s long history. By uniting elements from the past, such as the slow pacing, focus on exploration, mind-bending puzzles, and desperation for survival, with the pulse-pounding first-person gameplay of the recent era of horror games, Capcom has crafted a veritable modern classic. Resident Evil 7 embraces virtual reality as a medium and proves that you don’t have to cut corners or make sacrifices to create a compelling VR experience.

Damn, I never before felt this anxious (with a slight sense of dread) to get my hands on a game. One more day.

Just played it for about an hour.

Holy shit.

Felt butterflies in my stomach the whole time. Like something horrible was going to happen at any moment. And it did. Some genuine scares here. Everybody needs to try it in VR. This was amazing!

Only my VR arms took me out of the immersion.

I,m picking it up this afternoon. I played the demo again last night to get in the mood. This time I played standing up for full 360 rotation. Meeting that monster again in the basement had my hands shaking afterwards. I panicked, got the infected ending again, so horrible :)

Funny how you say dont say things like they are facts but then say RE6 is an objectively bad game when its not lol

Sorry, that part was badly written.Yes, I personally feel that RE 6 is a horrible game, but if you go by scores, its a mediocre game.
