So here we are again, after all these years we have another epic confrotation between the biggest mascots of the industry. With Super Mario Odyssey and Project Sonic 2017, we have big adventures developed by The Sonic Team and Nintendo EPD.

Who do you think is going to win the battle and the hearts this holiday season. I know that Mario has a steady track record and Sonic not so much, but this time sega seems like is taking time to learn from past mistakes to make Sonic great again, while Nintendo needs to work a lot to surpass past gems like SM64 and SMGalaxy.

Not really a fight anymore. Even though Sonic is a major multiplat, 3D sonic has gotten a pretty bad reputation, and it doesn't have the pull it used to (just look at Generations sales, the one 3D multiplat considered good after 06. It sold around 3m between PS360 and 3DS. Meanwhile 3D world sold 4,4m on the WiiU). On the other hand, we have Mario Odyssey, a return to the 64 collect-a-thon style people were asking for, on the hot new console. Day one sales alone are going to make the difference.

I've never seen Sonic as a contender of Mario, or most biggest IPs of Nintendo. Donkey Kong obliterates Sonic.

Edit: Also, I hope Yooka Laylee is awesome and sells a lot. 

Obviously Mario, I mean do you even have to ask. Not that I have anything against Sonic, I love Sonic and I'm definitely getting both of his 2 games coming out this year on Switch, but lets be serious Sonic 2017 could be the best Sonic game ever and not even come close to be beating Mario. It simply cannot be done.

Music and story will probably go to Sonic. Game play need to see more, but I usually have fun with Sonic more.

Music goes to Mario, but I've never really liked Sonic music whereas I'm a big fan of Mario songs especially from the Galaxy series

Gameplay: Mario since I don't really like Sonic games :p

Story: Probably Sonic since Mario's story is basically all the same with slight variation of Peach getting kidnapped and Mario going after to save her

Lol, really? Mario's always wiped the floor with Sonic. Even in the genesis days when they gave Mario a "run for his money" Nintendo always had the better composed game. That being said, I still have a HUGE soft spot for Sonic so I wish the best for his game.
