Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: There is too much confusion about anything!

Some people mentioned this or something similar in the "what did you expect from the Switch presentation" (or whatever it was titled) thread.
The last week just shows that they were right and Nintendo now gets lots of negative shoutouts thanks to the weak presentation.

Online service is likely still being overhauled hence why they won't start charging until fall, can't give information on something still being worked out.

I'll just post it here, if everyone wants to make a new thread go ahead. But maybe we need a unified one for these kind of things.

Intel Core i7 8700K | 32 GB DDR 4 PC 3200 | ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming | RTX 3090 FE| Crappy Monitor| HTC Vive Pro :3

I'm sure they will reveal everything else in a few weeks. We just had a Fire Emblem Direct only days after the Switch presentation, there'll definitely be another one before the launch.

Is there really a confusion?

To me, the only possible confusion is the launch dates of the announced games, they´re always announcing them as seasons rather than specific months and this is sort of annoying.

As for the device itself, its funcionalities, acessories and pricing, everything is pretty clear. Aren´t all pre-orders on online retailers sold-out, by the way? I believe most of those buyers already know what they need to know.

So much for being a "really well communicated console compared to Wii U" I guess. Only a few weeks before launch, it won't serve them well to have people speculating about mostly negative things. They are not in a position to play it overly cool right now.

We know next to nothing about the actual structure of the online, we don't know what apps it supports or what multimedia functionality it will have, we don't know anything specific about the hardware capabilities besides speculation based on tidbits of info on various parts, we don't know anything about the UI or OS, the whole mobile app for communications is, ironically, really poorly communicated and hasn't been shown either. There are some loosely hanging possible software nudges with zero detail from a few key developers, the battery time estimates are really vague and give a huge gap of about 4 hours between expected battery time. We don't know how online will function before the paid service kicks in, will we be able to transfer games and other stuff from 3DS and Wii U and VC? Will this amazing mobile app come day one and if it doesn't, what does that mean for games like Mario Kart is you want to play online? Can you play multiplayer online at all from the start? What exactly does it mean when they say that the mobile app will "available in a limited, free version"?

Lots of questions, not a lot of time left before release. I've never seen an entertainment product being presented this obtusely and certainly not a console. It feels like stress and indecision is still plaguing Nintendo offices and the whole thing seems rather poorly planned, just like with the Wii U. And, once again and sadly; it seems like they're mostly listening with their Japanese ear and not seeing the potential issues in the West.

It's Wii U all over again, do they ever learned . Sigh , I think they need to learn from SONY how to market it right, but then again it's Nintendo. Nintendo company need some Meiji Restoration revolution LOL.

Complicated situation

Nintendo doesnt provide info because they know they will only get a negative backslash. If there was no Eurogamer, some people still would believe 1TF shit.

I guess most people will agree with me when I say, that due to the lack of proper information by Nintendo for the Switch and all the features, Nintendo surely did a crappy job by enlightening everyone what will be going on.

I don't know why they didn't came out straight and told everyone what will be possible and how it will be implemented, like the Online App for the Switch for example.

This causes way too much confusion and people are either unsure wether to buy the console or not. The lack of proper information is also being used to downplay Nintendo. I suppose that Nintendo didn't do themselves a favour with this.

Seriously Nintendo, just tell your customers what they want to know!

This is actually good news. God heard my pray, Switch will bomb hard. At least at launch.
