Forums - Nintendo - Rock Band for Wii: WTF?!

Saying "I don't want a gimped version of this game" holds little water when you can just buy it for either the 360 or PS3. Just sayin'...

Look at all the Wii owners that want a gimpy game!!

15 Songs Downloaded * 1.50 per song (assuming that much) = 22.50 for a disc. Sounds reasonable to me.

And who says that the extra DLC will be on Rock Band 2? Hopefully if they were smart, they'd make the DLC from Rock Band 1 transferable to Rock Band 2.

Where you getting them SD cards? They are fake or stolen.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010070068+1053107930+1053307940&name=2GB

So I guess Newegg has been visiting the flash memory pawn shops, eh?

IMO, being afraid of copying is no excuse. There are tons of companies offering digital music downloads, and they have DRM to manage that.

So if I give newegg 8 I will get a 2 gb SD card? Whoa nice deals. Also nobody is gonna partner up with "Patriot Signature" or "Transcend"

Kingston is in there for $8.

@ReggieNator: I agree that SD cards are the wrong method for offline distribution, but they can easily be used for storage with online distribution.

@greenmedic: You're talking about a self-fulfilling prophecy.  The Wii has barely been out for a year.  Third parties and Nintendo are still shaping its userbase, and at this point, Nintendo is leaving third parties in the dust as far as bringing "real" gamers into the mix.

Welcome to Newegg. Give them 13 bucks and you get a USB SD card reader along with a 2 GB SD card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134548

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

They have already stated that Rock Band DLC will work with Rock Band 2.  It will NOT be released as part of Rock Band 2, the sequel will have all new songs (probably involving keyboard).

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Yeah nice nonsensical retort.  13 is no where near $7  it's almost double.  Welcome to 1st grade math. (You also forgot shipping so I would have to fork over $18)  I also stated above that $10 would be a much closer to $7.

Look how much Nintendo is charging for their SD card 30 MSRP.  They won't let EA get away will selling the card with songs packed in for $25.

I didn't take the time to read all this, but one thing I saw unsaid, was that there are also no customizable characters in the Wii version.

That kind of sucks too.

buying a 1 gig nintendo branded SD for 40 bucks = fail

Buying a 1 gig Sony branded memory stick for 40 bucks = fail. My reply was more random than yours!!!

Welcome to reading comprehension, $13 is for an SD card AND a USB SD card reader, something that often goes for $20 by itself at retail.

I expect we'll see SDHC support for the Wii this year, simultaneous with the announcement of the "official" Nintendo-brand 8 GB SD card.  They usually wait until they can quadruple the size of their memory cards (hence memory card 59, 251, 1019 on the Gamecube).
