Forums - Nintendo - Pokémon GO Racked Up $950 Million In Revenue During 2016

Pretty sure nintendo is a tad bit unhappy that they didn't purchase Niantic before letting them make the game, they must have lost a lot of money on that

Who is Niantic?

EDIT: Sorry, I thought DeNA made the game.

How much does Nintendo get out of that? Because the money has to be shared with Apple, Niantic, Google, Pokemon Co. and Nintendo.

Apple gets 30% for each transaction on the Appstore, not sure about the others.

and it coudl have been 5billion if they launched it with full features and didnt block people with root access to their phone or older phones that it ran on.

Most of the money is probably from people buying pokeballs cause Niantic is making it more difficult to even catch a low CP Pidgey lol

Imagine if this money was made selling regular handheld software!

$950.000.000 / $40 (the average 3DS release price) = 23.750.000 units sold!

Mobile gaming is a fad confirmed. Since 2010.

If Niantic does events right, they should easily outdo that this year. Nintendo get a couple million for ownership in TPC. Not bad.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I'd like to know this

So how much Nintendo got? 1/5 of the cash? Or less?
