Pretty on point rebuttal

I agree with him man, I've been screwed over by Nintendo one to many times and I wished the switch wasn't real and they made either a good home console or a good handheld (which would have been fine with the power of the switch) and give the loyal fans- and people who love Nintendo games (like myself) a good value for once.

Nintendo ought to just authorize a fan-made game every month and offer it for free on their service, they'd never have to share any of their own stuff lol

I bet that 3D original Legend of Zelda would be a big hit. Also, Psycho Waluigi would finally show a little love towards an otherwise pointless character :D

No offence, but I kind of expected you to fully agree with his points and not Jim's. I took a look at the guy's YT channel and saw it chock full of Nintendo this and Nintendo that. You can even see in the background of his video that he's got tons, absolutely tons of Nintendo games, which makes him a very much hardcore devoute of Nintendo.

I can't take devouts like that as seriously as I can someone who buys into all sorts of platforms and games. I follow Jim because he isn't tied down to a single platform. Guys like Crapgamer, Jaytechtv and then this guy, all 3 of them are tied to single platforms and sing high praise or rebuke arguments thrown against them, rather than taking it on the chin for what is being said. There are issues with the Switch, that's just how it is, but it doesn't make a good argument to sum those up as "whining", or "non issues" because you don't find them to be an issue. hell I'm on the fence about getting the device myself and yet one person on here already summed up my expectations as being entirely "silly", and yet they have already pre-ordered their Switch and are sold on it, but refuse to understand my view, my issues with the Switch itself. It's like there is no such problem, it's almost like I'm the problem and not Nintendo, and that is definitely not a healthy thought for a fan to have or force on another that doesn't think like they do.

Had you linked a guy that wasn't all completely all over and for Nintendo, it woul have been dandy and even fair/neutral, but instead we've got bias from the very beginning.

Can you listen to the arguments instead of falling in such a gigantic fallacy? Nah, lets decide if he is right or not going by the number of Nintendo games he has and lets pretend we know the guy, jeez.

I like Jim Sterling but he is being remarkably sensationalist here, many of his points are really questionable, now of course I know thats the part some dont want to hear though, many are very confortable in a false narrative in which everything is going wrong for the Switch and that video is like honey for them.

Ok for starters, calm down. I've seen how you get around others when it comes to Nintendo arguments. No need to go apeshit because I pointed out that the guy you think is right on all accounts, just so happens to be all for Nintendo in the first place and is a huge fan of said company.

When has Jim ever not acted in such a sensationalist way?. The guy always says "thank god for me", in such a tone that makes him come off as a douche. That's about much his thing as it is for James Rolfe being the AVGN or Critic when he gets in his character, Jim has his own. I've watched TB's video and his issues, issues that I share as well, yet from some fans that are already sold on the Switch in general, those issues somehow aren't as "important" or are just somehow silly, something that can be excused in some way or another. The online charging and details for example cannot be twisted, that has been agreed on from most sides, but other issues haven't and that's the issue onto itself. What isn't an issue to you, will be for someone else. It's usually better to try understanding someone's issue than to brush it off entirely as "their fault" or being silly or bullshit, otherwise you end up coming off as someone unpleasant to talk to.

"I know thats the part some of you dont want to hear though,"

See this is what I'm talking about. This is a typical "mirror" type argument, where you deflect what was previously said in some way, back to the eprson that said it, as if to make them the same exact thing that the eprson had said earlier on. I've seen people on here say that about Nintendo fans "not wanting to hear" a "truth" of sorts. It's really not the ebst type of argument to just toss out there as it's merely a mirror and not an actual argument that completely cripples the other.

Jim isn't music to my ears. I've watched that guy's rebuttal, Jim and TB's videos, and I strongly share views with both Jim and TB on this one. I'm still on the fence about getting the device like I said before, but a fan isn't going to suddenly make all my concerns vanish into thin air, no instead it's up to Nintendo to do that as well as those who are interested in the device, but aren't sold on it from the moment they laid eyes on it and want it day 1 (as in they have zero qualms about getting it or what issues it may entail)

At the end of the day, when it comes to news or information, I'd likely want to hear it from a non fan's pov, as a dedicated fan's pov will always yield results that put the device in a far better light than simply being fair.

He says the service sucks unless it's "Less than $5 a month". I'd just like to point out that that's exactly what I paid for XBL and PS+. The odds are pretty good it'll be less than that.

Carry on.

I think he's trying to say that PSN and XBL are $60/year. Their service needs to be cheaper and he doesn't think it will be.

I think it will be.

Sorry but I just hate that kind of fallacy, to pretend that someone has no credibility because it happens to like something is just wrong, this guy is super down to earth and reasonable it deserves to be listen and not judged for the games behind him.

Of course some thing cannot be spinned and of course there are problems, but Jim was unreasonable in a bunch of points, and it may be his character instead of his person but his characters is supposed to be dead serious when talking about this kind of criticism and people take his word about it like it was dead serious, and some of the criticism is hyperbolic, nitpicking or based on assumptions.

In any case that video was not made to discredit him but to give other perspective to the most questionable arguments. I also listened to Total Biscuit analysis and I agree with 90% of what he said, way more than with Jim this time tbh.

I do too. I"m thinking it'll debut at $40/year. Sweet spot is probably $25-30.
