should we be surprised?
That thing is going to bomb badly in Europe at the very least.
Also the device is clearly not aimed at casual players, and investors don't like that.

Wait what? How is the Switch NOT aimed at casuals?

I think this video has played a larger role in negative investor confidence that people realize. It's done things to me. Things I need to see a doctor about.

It costs $300, it doesn't have a pack in game, has paid online, and an extra controller costs $80. That doesn't sound like it targets casuals to me.

Be careful with you excessive certainty because the crow will be bitter...
You should have said like that: In my opinion, switch could be a big bomba in Europe!

- 300 bucks
- the design has too many buttons, 2 thumbsticks, and the color and shape look like a hardcore gaming device. I mean look at the Wii, look at the DS lite, now look at the Switc, spot the differences. It's pretty simple to see why they won't respond well
- Nintendo didn't make any games using the touch screen or didn't promote the touch screen
-Too complicated for casuals too, the joy cons, the modularity. I've been saying for the last 3 months, and now a lot of the media are finally saying the same. That system tries to do so many stuffs, it gets really confusing for non-hardcore gamers
-Where are the casual games? Where is mario 2D? Animal Crossing? Mii? And so on
The only casual thing I can think of is 1.2 switch, good luck selling that 50 bucks game with a 300 bucks console to casuals. They are going to rush in to buy it...
I really don't know why people think casuals would be interested in the Switch, besides Reggie saying "we are targeting everybody, it's made for everybody".
Well then it sures looks like they tried to put everything to please everybody, but that doesn't mean that it's a good fit for the casual market.

Casuals play games on devices that are twice as expensive. Price is nothing.

Not surprising, of course there wasn't any chance for you to expect something different... ( given your posting history... )
Well.. expected, after that presentation.
It´s kind of ironic, because they had everything in hand to impress. They could focus more on the games, and there were a lot of them to discuss, instead of taking too long talking about 1,2,Switch and the Joy-con functions. They should enfatize the traditional approach to gaming that the Switch offer, but they again opted to focus on casual gaming and .... everyone knows how casuals are not interested in consoles anymore. At least not as they were last generation.
Now... they need a lot of advertising to keep the hype up among non-Nintendo fans
