I don't remember the guy's full name but there was this really arrogant dipshit who used to write for IGN named Colin something who made this article how the Vita was going to destroy the 3DS in sales. It wasn't so much that his prediction was way off but his arrogance. The guy always came across as no one else is right but him. Huge Sony fanboy aswell. I'm not calling OP names but I do get a kick out of these kinds of threads/articles. They are fun to revisit people's takes and why they felt that way. Mainstream media was hyping up Nokia N-Gage as the Game Boy killer...you know the side talking taco that looks like an electronic GOATSE. DS was called by many to be the next Virtual Boy.
We all have been wrong on things before. That said things like this. Are why I don't take bold stances and boast them proudly. Your risk of looking silly is higher than the risk of looking right. Personally I figured Switch would do 3DS numbers. 75 million lifetimes. I figured it's a Nintendo handheld at its core and they are always supported well. I never expected it to be in the conversation as Wii esp potentially surpassing it one day. That still remains to be seen but the fact it's even a possibility is insane. That said, expecting it to sell worse than 13 million even then seemed far fetched.
