Crazy what little remains of MS's E3 2014 conference.

I thought Nintendo won E3 2014 with MS in a close second and got me to buy an xbox one but putting all of this into perspective really shows how little actually came out that conference.

I'll be surprised if Shenmue 3 releases before 2019. That's got to be one of the dumbest E3 reveals I've seen. Right behind FfVII Remake, actually.

On one hand it was crazy to get a game never expected and no leaks, on the other these long waits do leave games open to taking "forever" if at all to come out.  Personally I like E3 announcements to be games coming out in following 18 months, but I get the desire to make a splash before people are aware of a project.

I actually prefer it if the game is announced within 12 months of release, like Fallout 4 and DOOM. I don't mind leaks too much, because I can generally avoid them if I really want to, and actually seeing a game in action is still a big deal no matter what. 18months just seems too long to me. Feels like it could easily slip to 24months.

And to think some people said Microsoft won e3 2014. I think that puts it to bed.

There are probably still some holdouts.

18 months means E3 2017 would show off games for 2017 and 2018, nothing coming 2019 and beyond.

Of course delays can always happen so difficult to enforce any sort of parameters.

I remember being excited for this game. But I lost hope for it when Microsoft pulled the Kenetic from the console. The was being built to make full use of the ill fated accessory, and it basically made it so they probably had to try and redesign huge chunks of the game. Which is one of the reason I don't think we will see this game on any other platform. (Though elements may be reused for their original IP they are making.)

I don't remember they saying Scalebound was designed around the Kinetic.

I think it may have been from a preview after Scalebound's announcment in 2014, and previews tend to be more on the what could be, and since at that time Kenetic was still a standard piece of the system. (I couldn't find the actual preview from 2014's E3, only the media briefing.)

Alright, here's a question for Xbox gamers. What if Scorpio turned out like a steam machine, with steam installed and whatever MS's store was called. And all future Xbox games would move to their store, would you buy it?

No because a 5 dollar HDMI cord to my TV from my PC is cheaper. Steam machines were a joke because it wa sa product for no one. Phantom had the same idea in 2004. Never got released. Steam Machines people already forgot about them. They are not made for PC nor console gamers so who are they fore? No one. IS MS made a Windows 10 games only machine they just handed Sony and Nintendo the keys.

I think MS win with a Win 10 only system for their games, they still get to sell software. The Xbox gamers a steam esque box with a console UI will be fine in my eyes, don't see a problem with a steam app and a windows game app on it. Of course it would be digital only, which may piss some off.

which is funny, because at the time it was seen as a good conference that made up for the reveal and E3 2013, and many said they had a better conference than Sony.

i actually thought MS's E3 2013 was much better than Sony's. (confrence wise). except for the price that is and all the power of the cloud nonesense.
