Even after release , you could still find better deals on online stores than on the actual Steam store. For an example all of the jrpgs I bought for PC varied between humble store, bundle stars, indie gala, retroism, Namco/squareenix store - all had way better discounts.

This.

I've found over the past 2 and a half years, that I've been able to get better digital deals from other vendor sites than Steam itself. I managed to snag Fallout 4 the year it was released, during Dec for £24 over on GMG, while Steam was selling it for at least £32. I've learned to just roll with other sites than Steam itself due to the cheaper prices. I'll still buy from Steam though.

Get it physically then. Sites like GAME are selling physical X1/PS4 copies for £44.99.

Digital for consoles sucks balls hard and deep. In my country digital console games are like 40-50 % more expensive than physical copies. No box, no shipping, no disc - pay 1.5x the price.

its pretty fucked up by capcom to offer it cheaper on pc for no reason whats so ever, guess i wont buy it day 1

Uh, PC games are typically way cheaper. That's the beauty of having multiple marketplaces competing. Even if a game is Steam exclusive, you can have 4, 5, + sites selling Steam keys. Where as on consoles if you want that digital game you typically pay whatever price the pub wants. You not buying day one won't change that, lol.

uhm it's exactly the same on consoles. And If you're smart, you're going to buy from the cheapest region of the original MS/Sony stores, since that's going to be even cheaper.

I mean, you see physical prices dropping to ~50% in a month or so due to the same reason. If someone is trying to be a savvy shopper, you can do that regardless of platform.

Yep. Console games get physical slashes that rival the prices the PC market sees. Digitally though, consoles have a long long way to go.

$60 in Australia so full priced.

DIgital marketplaces will never really compete with key sellers. I do think that XBL and PSN easily rival what Valve offers, but the other places aren't a fair comparison imo.
