Forums - Nintendo - Nikkei rumor: Nintendo Switch to cost 25000 yen ( probably 250$/250€)

"Nikkei has published an article with what could be the Japanese price point for Switch. According to the site, Nintendo will be setting the system at 25,000 yen. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to the full piece as a membership is required, but that price is in fact what Nikkei is claiming.  direct conversion from yen would put Switch at around $213.65. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean Nintendo would price it at $200."

A 200$ pricepoint would be amazing, but I'm perfectly happy with 250$, as well. Nikkei has a pretty solid track record. I remember when Nintendo denied the existence of the 3DS XL ( that one came from a Nikkei report), but then announced it a week or so later.

250€ for the regular SKu seems a bit too much, I hope they add at least one game, like the Wii. The Deluxe SKY better come with some neat extras and not just a game and a pro controller.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The OP price point is £200/$210, that is well cheap tbh.

I like the $250 price but it is above what I'd call the impluse buy category which is 150-200. Still, hopefully it will come with a free game like they usually do.

110% gonna order 2

You're kidding right? 250 Euros is £200/$210, that is well cheap.

250 Euros is $263 (according to google). You got the pounds much closer (£214).

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I misread the OP and didn't check the $ conversion.

I would gladly pay $299 for it so that seems like the perfect price point.

Same as 3DS? Awesome.

250 sounds like the magic number. 200 would be excellent, but seems too low of a price for Ninten to start off with the Switch.

How are people saying it's still too high? The Wii launched at $250 and it sold 100 million units. I think it's a great price point. There's nothing else like it on the market that offers seamless gameplay. $250 is the perfect price point for the Switch. It's more powerful than the Wii U and costs much less. I'm pretty sure there'll be a last gen pack in from Nintendo as well. $200 and you're just asking Nintendo to give the thing away.
