Over the last few months, we've seen the us really become a battleground between the Xbox and PlayStation brands. Microsoft's console has become more competitive with the new slim console, and has been able to win more npd months than in any year before it. We also saw a surprisingly close November with a 100k gap, which also accounts for the effect of the psvr launch as well as the ps4 pro launch. December could be a win for the XB1, and if we see this momentum continue, I believe that we could see 2017 be a win for the Xbox, which would be a massive shift from just a few years ago when it was being destroyed by the ps4 in its home market. So do you guys think Microsoft could win the US in 2017, or is this simply little more than a hopeless dream?

I like your positive feelings .

It wouldnt only be thé first lie of Microsoft this génération, especially about exclusives, dont take their déclarations as à fact

It makes no sense money wise to not make exclusive Scorpio games when you have a generational gap between One and Scorpio.

Its like if all Xbox One games were playable on 360, itd make no sense to do that when you create a totally new hardware with a huge power gap you wanna sell.

It makes absolutely no sense to have a console so powerful to not use fully its power for more than framerate or résolution and some effects added .

Something never seen in vidéo game industry beczuse itd be pure waste.

I take thé bet to be right about this, youll see.

They may go back on their word about exclusives, but you said that they would have them as if it were a fact, so I wasn't sure if that was merely an assumption of yours, or if you had been missinformed.

As for how much sense it makes, gamers buy expensive graphics cards for the purpose of playing the same games as everyone else, in higher resolution with better framerate, effects, etc. There is a market for that.

Market for that on consoles though is most likely incredibly small, if it does sell extremely well it's unironically enough probably because it has HUGE exclusives.

It's possible considering how close November was with Sony having VR and the PS4 Pro.

Can someone post the numbers for every year since the release of PS4 and Xbone? Looking at the games lineup. I do not think they stand a chance.  With Scorpio they might get some notice but Sony might undercut PS4P price by 50$. I do not think 4K gaming is going take off anytime soon anyways

I think PS4 will take it.

I think it's important to underline that this hasn't been verified by a reliable source, and is still just a rumor.

Until we know the November NPD numbers, and December, it's too soon to make predictions about this I think.

I was under the impression that the initial source was confirmed by 2 other insiders.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

That was never verified and is a rumor.

We shall see is PS4 wins December. If so, then I see Sony winning NPD until Octobe 2017 or whenever the Scorpio releases given Sony's marketing deals, exclusives and momentum. Sony will probably cut $50 off the Pro, Slim and VR just before the Scorpio comes out just to hinder it.

Could Donald Trump win the election?

Yes it seems the least desirable candidate can win, especially in America.

It's sometimes difficult being the only intelligent one left.

This Market is on PC, not on consoles, if someone is  really interested in that from thé start, hé has à PC and since Xbox is totally useless for these performance gamers with à PC doing much better + with PC exclusives.

Do you really think ps4 would have sold more than 5M being called PS3 Scorpio and having no games you cant find on PS3 or no futur exclusives coming ? Its highly unlikely , so i dont even imagine Scorpio coming close to 2M if it hasnt exclusives .

They will make exclusives for sure , they just dont want to scare xbox one gamers yet, theyll wait to annonce it to not kill Xbox One sales, it makes perfect sense, beczuse if today they annonce Xbox One is dead and à new génération is coming , Xbox One sales will drop so hard, so they just make people believe both will live together.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Sure, and maybe the UK, worldwide sales, however, are likely to be quite lopsided in the ps4's favor again.
