Umm, Lawlight. I don't think you understand that the mods already do it for free.

That's what they said but they also do it for free.  I'd imagine even as little as $100 per month would make them much happier.  I've campaigned for paid mods (not to be confused with Bethesda!)  on Vgchartz.  I thought with the supporters program they would, but they were deemed not as important in the priority list for those who got paid.  

That's unfortunate but ioi could still pay them a small percentage of the proceeds he makes from here.

There's only so much facepalming and headdesking someone can do before it takes a toll on their mental health.

I'd love to see how much this site makes on a monthly/yearly basis. I know it's value is in the millions. It's pretty gross that he doesn't pay them, and speaks to his character. Even a pittance for their work is better than jack shit.

I think that Brett makes less off of it than most people think, which is probably why he doesn't bother.

Yeah, I don't know obviously, and should have restrained myself a bit. It's early. I'm still foggy. :)

Also I second Miguel's post. As evidenced above, some users still don't realize this is purely a volunteer role, and for most of us, full time work or school will tend to absorb a lot of our attention. Not that we require the community to be sympathetic, but it puts in perspective why we can't be playing psychiatrist with everyone here. Particularly when, at least in my experience, users here don't tend to take criticism well. I've had users try to defend their right to make homophobic slurs, or compare me to Hitler over a mere warning...so I can understand why some moderators, past and present, would grow a bit jaded towards rehabilitating certain users.

Of course, I'm not saying I don't see the merit in it either...just that I really don't see this working for the majority of the issues I've seen in the past.
