Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

whoa someone managed 1000+ posts as an alt id before he got caught for it, at that stage surely the alt is more the main of the person. Another fairly active user gone from the site though, at this stage is it not a concern that there appears to be more outgoing old members (or alts of older users) via permabans than there is incoming fresh blood to the site?

Have you guys ever considered the current state of activity on the site when it comes to applying a stern warning or a permaban, say in the case of really high post count members surely it must come into consideration in a way? I guess even in a case of saying if 1 in every 50 posts are trolling.... that's still just 2% of the user is a troll which is a low % of trolling.

Sort of using the Stitch badness level to determine use to the forum as a whole if that makes sense... sorry it's late here... NXT takeover was on!

Of course we consider those things, in this case he had a terrible record. Some users have come back as alts and improve, in those cases we wouldn't just perma ban them straight away.

OK. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I really did want to do it here.....but I actually did look at the rules after I posted ( ha ), and was on my way to retract my post when I saw your reply.

No problem. Check your PMs and history. ;)

Again, thanks for looking into it.

Oh aye, I'm not saying that HintHRO was a good user or protesting his removal from the site, the only comments of his that come to mind are the shit one line backhanded jabs at the switch he makes in almost every thread about the system. Just boring after a while to see.

Is it time the forum section gets on overhaul to make it more like resetera or neogaf?

Thats more of a bandaid than a fix. Ultimately the problem that needs to be fixed is that a lot less people are viewing the main VGC site and no one in the media is using VGC numbers anymore. ioi needs to find a way to fix this to drive traffic to the site, which in turn makes people want to join the forum.

Agreed.  I came here for the first time by following a link in an article by Paul Tassi in 2015.  I read almost all of his stuff,  and I haven't seen another inkk to this site in a couple years.

Multiple people making fun of another user every week because of a terrible prediction that was made a year ago isn't funny. It's malicious. It doesn't matter if it's a "meme" it's needless taunting on a very frequent basis, and it's not done in good jest when many of the users doing it clearly don't like him.

Its not just about that one prediction, its more because only thing he was doing on this cite was downplaying and being negative about Switch sales and potential, its was very annoying. Last time was few weeks ago and thats reason why again he was banned.

I have to point out that it has also being very annoying to watch a bunch of people basically bullying him over the same thing every single week for over a year. Especially when he has admited that he was wrong (and apologized for it) MULTIPLE times.

Counter argument to the "especially", isn't the whole point of being sorry for something is to stop doing that thing over and over again (in this case stop constantly downplaying Nintendo)? I personally do not like him getting taunted at while being banned, however if he is not banned and continues his behavior, shouldn't he be called out on it?

Or is this, one of those, no, it is bullying to call spade a spade situation.

Regarding my recent ban being rescinded: I just checked my mod history, and the ban is still present. In addition to this, my lost VGC $$$ haven't been restored. This is my first experience with an appeal/overturn, but I'd assume the ban is usually stricken, and the VGC fun-bucks are restored?

Trucks may be able to do something about the $$$. As for the removed ban, I’ll look into it (for the mods, we don’t see it after removing it).

Thanks again. Ok, so it's gone from the mods list. But just for clarity's sake, is the ban supposed to remain in my mod history that is accessible only by me on my profile page?

Yes
