Nintendo doesn't give about their fans but gives them free online and releases always finished games instead of patching them afterwards. What else are you still missing? Yes, I miss Metroid, too. What else?

In the sense that when their fans ask for something, it's almost like they go out their way to do the opposite.

Splatoon may be the only time they did something asked by their fans and even then, reggie said "see, we were right, fan reaction was bad when we revealed Splatoon, but it sold very well, people were wrong", I wanted to slap him so fucking bad.

Well, reading the Iwata asks about Splatoon, they do not mention the customer a single time (that I can remember), they only talk about how genious they were for turning tofu into squids. So Splatoon is more of a classical example of making something for yourself that resonates with your reference group.

In all honesty, Nintendo has hard time deciding whether it's fan feedback or something else in the internet. Before the internet, Nintendo at least had sales figures to decide if people liked their games or not. I would Nintendo has similar problems Microsoft has, which is focus on developers and not the customer.

I mean, Wii U got hate, but I don't remember 3DS having that much. It was a good console that delievered the games.

It got a fair share in the beginning, before the cvita launched. Not enough games, too expensive, missing 2nd analog stick and so on..

The SNES was as "vanilla" as vanilla could get and it's their best console. If done right, Nintendo could dominate by doing it again.

Having said that, I am fine with the blue ocean. But the argument is there.

SNES is only vanilla in comparison to modern day consoles at the time of its release both it and the NES were far from vanilla.

And because of 3D. I think after the release of 2DS and N3DS the hate have calmed down. But I don't think 3DS had as much dislike as Wii U did.

That's true. The Wii U is still hated to this day and will die with its hate. Yet, I enjoyed it and it has some really great and awesome games.

There will always be something where people can complain about. Even if the Switch is great, it won't be perfect.
It will defenitely have some advantages but also some desadvantages (e.g. slightly less powerful hardware, not all the 3rd party support) in comparison to the next playstation and xbox.
And even if it doesn't have any shortcomings, people can still complain about the games (no game is perfect. Even Ocarina of Time got some hate)

Slightly less powerful, lol.

Slightly less powerful, lol.

I mean, in a best case scenario.

Link please?

He was talking about Federation Forces, trying to bullshit us that fans were wrong about Splatoon and that they are wrong with Federation.

"Take for example Splatoon, he said.

Splatoon, a new sort of shooter unveiled at last year's E3 based on an entirely new IP, didn't receive an entirely positive reaction at the show. At least not initially.

"Splatoon is a game that people are loving right now, but if you rewind to E3 last year, Splatoon was being viewed as, 'Yes, it's innovative and it's different, but the controls are a little hard and I don't understand the mechanic of turning into a squid and going through the ink.' There were all of these complaints. But now you look at the finished product and the satisfaction is huge." "

First of all, never heard any NIntendo fans talk badly about Splatoon, especially not as much as federation. Second of all, we asked for like 10 years to Nintendo to give us something in the line of a competitive shooter, and now he goes on and tries to say that we needed to be convinced?

I mean it's typical Nintendo: " fans don't know anything, we (Nintendo) are always right, we don't care about your opinion, here is another game with mario doing some kind of sports, buy it. F zero? Starfox? Metroid? The interest isn't high enough for these IPs. See we released an awful Metroid and crappy Starfox, both sold poorly, we were right all along! Now go buy the last kirby game that plays exactly the same as the onereleased on SNES 25 years ago"

Seriously, I'm out, buying a PS4pro with Horizon, they can shove Animal Crossing and Mario Sport Mix into the throats of their loyal "fans", I had 15 great years with Nintendo, 5 ok ones, and 5 bad, not signing for 5 more.

That's just about the best way how you can put it. That's pretty much what the third parties did with Wii as well. They're releasing the rehashes so they did not need to make games they don't want to. If the rehashes sell, you can keep on rehashing, and if they don't, Nintendo can point out to shareholders that people aren't interested in these games anymore and it makes no sense to make them. It's kind of an lose-lose scenario for the customer, just like Trump-Clinton election.

Nintendo's strength in the last couple of years haven't been them being good, but the competitors being worse than Nintendo.
