In the sense that when their fans ask for something, it's almost like they go out their way to do the opposite. Splatoon may be the only time they did something asked by their fans and even then, reggie said "see, we were right, fan reaction was bad when we revealed Splatoon, but it sold very well, people were wrong", I wanted to slap him so fucking bad. |
Well, reading the Iwata asks about Splatoon, they do not mention the customer a single time (that I can remember), they only talk about how genious they were for turning tofu into squids. So Splatoon is more of a classical example of making something for yourself that resonates with your reference group.
In all honesty, Nintendo has hard time deciding whether it's fan feedback or something else in the internet. Before the internet, Nintendo at least had sales figures to decide if people liked their games or not. I would Nintendo has similar problems Microsoft has, which is focus on developers and not the customer.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
