"Take for example Splatoon, he said. Splatoon, a new sort of shooter unveiled at last year's E3 based on an entirely new IP, didn't receive an entirely positive reaction at the show. At least not initially. "Splatoon is a game that people are loving right now, but if you rewind to E3 last year, Splatoon was being viewed as, 'Yes, it's innovative and it's different, but the controls are a little hard and I don't understand the mechanic of turning into a squid and going through the ink.' There were all of these complaints. But now you look at the finished product and the satisfaction is huge." "
First of all, never heard any NIntendo fans talk badly about Splatoon, especially not as much as federation. Second of all, we asked for like 10 years to Nintendo to give us something in the line of a competitive shooter, and now he goes on and tries to say that we needed to be convinced?
I mean it's typical Nintendo: " fans don't know anything, we (Nintendo) are always right, we don't care about your opinion, here is another game with mario doing some kind of sports, buy it. F zero? Starfox? Metroid? The interest isn't high enough for these IPs. See we released an awful Metroid and crappy Starfox, both sold poorly, we were right all along! Now go buy the last kirby game that plays exactly the same as the onereleased on SNES 25 years ago" Seriously, I'm out, buying a PS4pro with Horizon, they can shove Animal Crossing and Mario Sport Mix into the throats of their loyal "fans", I had 15 great years with Nintendo, 5 ok ones, and 5 bad, not signing for 5 more. |
That's just about the best way how you can put it. That's pretty much what the third parties did with Wii as well. They're releasing the rehashes so they did not need to make games they don't want to. If the rehashes sell, you can keep on rehashing, and if they don't, Nintendo can point out to shareholders that people aren't interested in these games anymore and it makes no sense to make them. It's kind of an lose-lose scenario for the customer, just like Trump-Clinton election.
Nintendo's strength in the last couple of years haven't been them being good, but the competitors being worse than Nintendo.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
