Switch super bowl ad?

Should happen, but probably won't 48 49.48%

Only a few weeks after the Switch reveal is of course the worlds biggest single televised event: the Super Bowl.

Last year the Pokemon ad was pretty huge hit. While you could say Pokemon Go was the real reason Pokemon has sold so well this year - you can hardly discount the tremendous impact the ad last year had in its time.

The timing seems right for a Super Bowl ad for the Nintendo Switch and also Breath of the Wild. Especially if Zelda does in fact launch in March with the Switch.

It could be the most expensive marketing Nintendo has done in years, but I say - why the hell not? The YT clips for Switch and Zelda - have done just as well as the YT upload of the Pokemon ad without the mass exposure the Super Bowl brings. Imagine the potential reach Nintendo would muster with a prime-time Super Bowl Ad.

After seeing them bring Switch to Jimmy Fallon - I think it's obvious they truly care about showing Switch and Zelda on mainstream TV.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I think it might happen, I swear I heard a rumor they were aiming for it (along with things like Walking Dead and Disney XD for advertisement space). Plus I think they picked up Pokemon Go's large surge of popularity, and how that affected the Pokemon games on 3DS.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

yes!

that was concise...

It should, but I don't think it will. Did the Wii U get a Superbowl ad?

They are changing up their adveritsement methods, even without rumors they are handling the build up quite differently.

Sure super bowl is a great stage for ads.

Great Idea for NA marketing.
I really think they need to pick up marketing in Europe though. They seem to rely exclusively on a combination of NA and japan specific marketing with nothing in line for Europe really.
Europe doesn't give two fucks about the Superbowl.

Does the switches target audience.. watch football?
I don't mean just a little, but a large section of their target audience?

Super bowl ads are super expensive.

I guess they could be aiming at the kids watching football with their parents?

I don't think Nintnedo is aiming their Switch marketing at kids, or for that matter families at all. Everything Switch related we've seen so far has shown cool, hipster, young addults. I think nintendo has finally grasped that kids always want what the older kids like.

Yeah, like be official sponsor of next farmer's protest in Brussels.

Free switches for every G20 protester? :P

Nintendo would never do it, though maybe since Pokemon Go got one, they might change their mind, but I doubt it.
