Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Rebirth?

With all the hype building up and the positiveity generated by not only Zelda and the Switch rumors, but also Pokemon Sun and Moon, I can't help but be reminded of DC rebirth's impact on their universe

I wonder if the Switch will have a similar feel. After all the amount of well recieved change and reform in Pokemon and Zelda reminds me of some of the changes in DC Rebirth (Generally happier Batcharacters with interesting new directions, the old Superman, etc)

What will happen with Mario's seeming return to wider space platforming, let alone the other titles?

And will Nintendo have it's own equiv. to Wally West?

Also I am thinkng of commisioning a image in homage to the Rebirth one if the reveal on the 12th is good. Probably will just the JL6, though who'd be that equiv to Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman?

With the reveals so far I feel that Mario, Link, and an Inkling will fill three spots, but will we get three more good ones on the 12th?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

We have to wait, but I would like to say yes. 2016 was the first time in a pretty long time where Nintendo became somehow relevant again, you can see, Pokemon, Mario (independently of the situations) and the most popular console in terms of interest. We have to wait and see in what does the Switch materialize, remember and take into account, that independently the success in mobile, Nintendo's main business still being the consoles and they have to guarantee Switch's success to lock that status.

I'm thinking the same thing, only I associate it with The Little Mermaid and the Disney Renaissance.

What a strange comparison... I don't really see the connection, I don't think Nintendo's games on the Switch will have a different tone or feel to their titles on the WiiU. Mario is Mario.

Well, let's wait and see.

I guess? In here, it certainly feels that the Switch is out for success but outside of it, I don't feel that same hype (granted, I don't have many console playing friends, mostly just PC)

Just a few more days, boys. We're almost there.

You forget that Nintendo has genuine "success". Everything they do is either doom or a fad.

I'm being fecetious here though...

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I actually heard someone say they wanted a Switch the other day, their friend replied "what's a switch "to which she was was like "No way" and pulled her phone next thing I heard the Switch reveal trailer playing, the friend then said "graphics still look a bit shit" ( guess that was BOTW 😠) until Skyrim came on then he was like "wow that's so cool look skyrim" and "those controllers look sic" and finished with "might have to get one of them". The chick was like "I'm getting it in March haven't played Mario since the Wii".

I see this as a good sign.

Have you played a main super mario game or a zelda game? this is why those franchise have longevity, because the games have a different tone and feel even if the concept is the same.

Yes they change, but they still share a lot of the same feel from title to title.

Anyway what I really meant by that is it won't be like a major reboot of their series, the differences won't be colossally larger then the differences have been from generation to generation in the past. I don't see a major overhaul or shift in direction that makes this especially different to previous jumps.

What would make this a "rebirth" over say n64 to gamecube, or gamecube to wii. You're going to get more of Nintendo, I don't really know what the "Rebirth" is, other than sales.
