Dualshock 4 and Wii U Gamepad.

While I'm not a big fan of the asymmetric sticks, this one goes to the Xbox One S Controller for sure. That thing is just flawless with the build quality surpassing that of the DualShock 4 by far and also better ergonomics in general, at least for me. The Controller also killed everything I didn't like about the older controllers. It now has bluetooth on board, no more silly dongle on my laptop, nice! And finally a good digipad so playing Street Fighter ain't a problem. But the biggest advantage is the battery. I charge up my Xbox One S Controller every 4 weeks or so, that thing just keeps on going, it lasts forever. DS4? Not so much, I have to charge that friggin' thing every 2 days, it's a real pain in the ass.

The Dual Shock 4 is fine, but in my opinion a step back from the glorious DS3. The Wii U Gamepad is too big for my taste and the Pro Controller has a weird layout. So all in all:

1. Xbox One S
2. Dual Shock 4
3. Wii U Pro Controller
4. Wii U GamePad

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

I never understood the initial dislike for the Xbox One Controller. Even the bumpers. One of the reasons I love BC despite keeping my 360 inches away from the One is the controller improvements. I used to put the two side by side and the XB1 bumpers were exactly where the 360 bumpers were. They just expanded the size to cover the empty space (I don't think I've explained this properly...)

PS4 is great but I've missed that " Share button" so many times when I was going for the perfect screen shot.

I own:

One Wii U gamepad, one Wii U pro controller, 2 Wii U Wii Remotes, 2 original PS4 controllers, one Hori Fight Pad (PS4), one PS4 Pro controller, 4 original Xbox One controllers, and one Xbox One S controller. All are fantastic but I like the Xbox One S controller the most.

The PS4 and XB1 controllers are close to perfect for me. The WiiU Pro controller is pretty good.

It´s the DS4.
Only downside really is the battery life.

so if having the stick down is extremely uncomfortable, wouldnt that mean the assymetric right stick of xbox be extremely uncomfortable too. making it a bad controller.

dont get me wrong i like the xbox controller, just never understood that offset sticks

I can't speak for everyone but the girth (hehe) of the Xbox controller makes manipulating those asymmetrical sticks quite easy.

Meanwhile the narrow, tubular handles of the PS4 controller make reaching those analog sticks -- already too close together and too far down -- more difficult. I often feel like I need to angle my wrists outward and push my thumbs downward to make it work. For me it's a flaw inherent in the DualShock design.

Just curious about that part where you charge up your One S controller...are you using some kind of battery that came with the device, or did you buy one of those play and charge kits? If it's one of the kits, which one are you using? I'm trying to find one with good battery size (maybe more than 1250mAh) so I don't have to keep charging up everyday.

OT: I agree with most about the DS4 being a huge leap from the DS3, so much so that it's a strain on my hands to work on my PS3 back catalogue. But apart from the LB/RB on the xbox one controller, it's a much more comfortable device for me, and it reminds me of my old Dreamcast controller (which was my all-time favourite). I also bought a Wii U fightpad and actually find it really great to play Mario Kart 8 and like the button layout, just not as much as the others.

I haven't tried every controller this gen, but this would be my preference right now.

1. WiiU Pro Controller
2. WiiU Gamepad
3. DS4

The main reason is that I don't like the sticks below. That's really uncomfortable for me. As a matter of fact, I think the XOne would be my favourite, assimmetric sticks are the best.

Xbox one elite controller is a beast son.
