HARDWARE

#05 PS4s UC4 Bundle (same)
#29 XB1s-500gb Battlefield Bundle (up 4)
#68 XB1s-500gb Minecraft Bundle (same)
#71 NES Classic (down 10)
#81 PS4 Fool's Edition (down 7)

SOFTWARE (pre-orders only)
#40 PS4 Kingdom Hearts HD (up 33)
#72 PS4 Kingdom Hearts Remix (down 33)
#78 PS4 Tales Of Berseria (down 1)

PS4:
2 in the top 100 / 1 in the top 50 / 1 in the top 20 / 1 in the top 10 / 1 in the top 5
XB1:
2 in the top 100 / 1 in the top 50 / 0 in the top 20 / 0 in the top 10 / 0 in the top 5

The reason I'm considering the possibility of the Scorpio being labelled a 'next gen' console is because I've seen the words 'backwards compatibility' sneaking into the narrative. You wouldn't say that about the Pro because it's a PS4, not another generation, just an upgraded current gen console.

At the end it doesn't  matter  what Microsoft  says about  scorpio, fact remains  this genn  is just starting  its 4th year( wel ps4 at least)  and won't  end because  both Microsoft  and Nintendo abandoned  thete failed systems.

Ps4 will still sell like crazy and will get crazy  amount  of support, switch too,but scorpio? Meh....don't  see it being  a big  hit.

But I don't now see the point of the Scorpio. It's not going to change anything now because it's too late and there are far too many PS4s out there that are going to be influencing future consumers. We're looking at an install base of 2:1 and a difference of at least 25m. Who is the Scorpio for? What difference will the Scorpio make in terms of that gap? Why would devs go out of their way to push the Scorpio harder than the PS4 when the install base is so much bigger on the PS4? Why would the Scorpio garner more exclusives? Do you see what I mean? It just seems pointless.

I think you're looking at Scorpio the wrong way. It'll have more in common with a gaming PC than a gaming console.

Reading what MS are saying, Xbox games will no longer be defined by generations. Games will be forward and backwards compatible, you pop the game in and depending what version of console you own, the game will run at that spec. Like PC.

Indeed, and thats going  to hurt them tremendous

Noo developer is going  to optimize  a game for 3 systems ( lets say xbox one, scorpio and scorpio2)

That's  not how consoles  work.

Also scorpio  will be updated  @ launch and in 2 years being  outdated  against the ps4,forcing  Microsoft  to again  make another  system.

It'll work like PC where the game runs at the settings to suit the hardware. It works for PC, why not consoles. I see Scorpio being similar to Steam box.

Think back a while and you'll realise I'm not thinking of this wrong. I've said for a long time now that the Scorpio will be a PC which is another reason why MS could risk talking in terms of a new generation: 'A new generation of consoles'. Get it? Word play and something MS does habitually. They'd be talking about a new type of console (PC in a box) but be able to blur the line enough to stay on both sides of the narrative.

But that's not really new at all.  Steam JUST did that.  And look how spectacularly well that's gone.  So yeah, still think it is pointless.  I also think that if the Scorpio doesn't take off and turn proffit, the Xbox One line (One, One S, and Scorpio) will be the end of the Xbox brand.  Consoles aren't headed where MS thought they were when they entered this market, their reasons for staying are fast running out.

I agree with that. Just not so much with comment before.
